Lagos To Pay Retirees Pension Under CPS

The Lagos State Government is set to pay the accrued retirement benefits of another batch of employees, who retired from the State Public Service under the Contributory Pension Scheme, on Wednesday, 12th February, 2014.

Director-General, Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC), Mr. Rotimi Adekunle Hussain disclosed this in a statement released by the Commission recently, saying that the retirees would be receiving their entitlements during the tenth Retirement Bond Certificates’ presentation ceremony, in Lagos.

Samuel L. Jackson was promoting his new film Robocop when the entertainment anchor of a morning news show asked him about his Super Bowl commercial, obviously mistaking him for actor Lawrence Fishburne

"I'm not Laurence Fishburne," Jackson exclaimed after a painfully long silence. "We don't all look alike! We may be black and famous, but we don't all look alike!"

When the news anchor realized his mistake and tried to go back to talking about Robocop, Samuel L. Jackson wasn't having any of that. "Let's talk about Robocop." The reporter said. "Oh, hell no! Yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of Kanye West’s debut album, The College Dropout. The “Black Skinhead” rapper took time out to thank everyone, including his fans via Twitter yesterday afternoon. Journalists and music publications celebrated Kanye’s debut album by reviewing their 10-year-old critiques of The College Dropout, publishing unreleased interviews with the 36-year-old rapper, and revealing where the 17 people Ye mentioned in the outro of “Last Call” were 10 years later. Kanye’s barber Ibn Jasper shared a few photos of Kanye’s The College Dropout celebration with his fiance Kim Kardashian. Kim was photographed peering over the bear-shaped cake, while Kanye appeared to be reflecting over his decade old album.

Doctor Bisola Clark, wife of Main E. K Clarke whose two kids, Adeife(10) and AKinola (14) were killed in Iyabo Obasanjo's convoy on the 20th of May 2003 has delivered an open letter to the Obasanjos expressing her distaste in the manner they handled the death of her children. Mrs Clarke, who was not married to the elder-statesman at the time the event happened, claimed she found the necessity to speak to up after Iyabo claimed in her open letter to her dad that the death of the youngsters was what sparked her to pursue political appointments.

 

In the open letter, Mrs Clarke said none of the Obasanjo's have been there for her emotionally since the sad day she lost her two children in assassination attempt on Iyabo Obasanjo's life.

NYSC to extend service year to 18 Months?

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, may extend the duration of National Youth Service from Twelve months to Eighteen months should the Scheme decide to act on  the recommendation of the Niger State Governor, Governor Babangida Aliyu, forwarded  to the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Johnson Olawunmi, in Minna on Monday, Omo Oodua corresspondents have reported.

 CNN's Anderson Cooper has said that his decision to come out as gay has not stopped some persistent female admirers from trying to seduce him. Cooper joked that he decided to come out in July 2012 because he wanted to get more interested men, but said that there are still some 'very determined young ladies'. 'Being born gay is one of the great blessings of my life,' he said during a talk at the University of Texas-Arlington on Monday night. The 46-year-old has been in a long term relationship with partner Ben Maisani since 2009 and the couple lives together in his converted firehouse in Manhattan's West Village.

 A spiritual prophet was caught pants down with a lady church member in Lagos. The prophet identified as  I.T Adewoye in his seventies is certainly one of the  spiritual leaders in Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, and things may come out sour consequently of his alleged  uncontrolled sexual appetite.

According to reports, Adewoye who's the founder of “Ayo Ni O”at the Idimu District in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State was caught by the husband of his mistress at her matrimonial home after months of suspicion. It was gathered  that  her husband raised an alarm and took photos of the prophet and his wife both naked, after which it he dragged the prophet to a police station at Idimu where he was begged never to press charges.
