After five years as Managing Director of M-Net Africa, Biola Abiola has resigned to occupy a new role in the organization. In a press statement released by M-Net yesterday, Ms Abiola is currently the Managing Director: Special Projects. 

In this capacity her portfolio now focuses primarily on the broadcaster's flagship productions including although not limited by the AfricaMagic Viewers'Choice Awards, the popular reality super series Big Brother Africa and several exciting new initiatives.

Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu (pictured left) has been named as M-Net's first Regional Director, West Africa.

When 20 year old British beautician Gemma Worrall (pictured above) realised relations between Russia and Ukraine were at crisis point, she decided to share her feelings on Twitter and without pausing to check her facts, or her spelling, Gemma wrote: 'If barraco barner is our president, why is he getting involved with Russia, scary.' Lol.

I married this man in an elaborate wedding that cost both our parents a fortune less than a year ago. I can't stand him anymore. And he's told me on numerous occasions that he can't stand me either. At the time I married him everyone told me he was the ideal guy and comes from a good, wealthy family. We dated for less than a year before getting married but the marriage was over before it even started. He's spoilt, egocentric and with him there's no middle ground. 

It's his way or the high way. These things I only noticed after I married him. I sincerely can't see myself spending the rest of my life with this man. The last time he touched me was just five months into our marriage. I'm sure he's getting it somewhere else but who cares? We are still keeping up appearances and still live in the same house but I want out.

I sincerely cannot confirm that these are Nigerians but according to the person who sent the photo said they're Nigerians (and some citizens of other African countries) studying in Malaysia who have been rounded up for lacking complete papers. The sender said a number of the students were arrested by immigration when they went to renew their visas, claiming they're living and schooling in Malaysia illegally. They need the Nigerian government to intervene and stop the harassment...

As part of the continuing enquiry into the torture of Ejigbo Market women (If you missed the Story, CLICK HERE), the Nigeria Police Force has obtained the pictures and descriptions of the three suspects declared wanted during the last press update. The three suspects are: (1) Ranti Lukeman Akande, (2) Akeem Shitu and (3) Tiri. 

Ranti Lukeman Akande a.k.a Otempa uses the appellations: Comrade or Alhaji or Chief Ranti Lukeman Akande. He is between 45 to 50 yrs old and hails from Ayetoro in Yewa North LGA of Ogun State. He is dark in complexion, tall with a big frame and has no tribal marks. The suspect has white set of teeth with an artificial gold tooth. He had been known as a panel beater before eventually started parading himself as the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) coordinator. He speaks Yoruba and English Languages. He is married and has children and he likes attending parties.

There's been a lot of back and forth regarding the alleged rape of a 29 year old lady  by popular Fuji musician Obesere..On a show "Wazobia on MITV, he told his own side.He said.....

“She visited me at home at night and it was too late for her to return to her place. I won’t lie about the fact that we had intimate encounter. But I did not rape her. And it was about four or five days after she visited me that she went to the police to allege that I raped her.

“I went to the police station but when when I realized that the officers there were favouring her as a complainant, I requested them to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba.

Mrs Joe Odumakin, Mrs Bridget Elesin and other women leaders joined the peaceful protest this morning. The ladies convened at LTV Agindingbi, Ikeja and walked from there to Government House, Ikeja, where the Head of Service of Lagos State addressed them.

 A hostel at Unity School in Ikire in Osun state was burnt down today by unknown persons while students were inside their classrooms. The college had just two blocks of hostels opposite one another, and just two days ago, one of many hostels was razed, only for the next one to be burnt down today. The college authorities called parents in to get their kids until they can figure out what happened.
