The Ex-Lagos State governor reportedly just purchased his second private jet. The over $50 million aircraft, a Bombadier Global Express XRS, is rumoured to be the same type owned by the likes of Mike Adenuga, Aliko Dangote, and Folorunsho Alakija. It was allegedly purchased from the US.

The best choice of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, has dared Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, to be prepared to meet him on the battle field.  Asari-Dokubo, who dismissed the threat by the best choice of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, against President Goodluck Jonathan, warned that 2015 will be “a lot more than do-or-die.”

The Niger Delta region former fighter, who spoke Thursday night during a proper partnership session with former militant leaders organised  by the Niger Delta Development Commission, recalled how Shekau threatened that the violent Islamic sect would soon come for President Jonathan.

Asari-Dokubo cautioned that the folks of Niger Delta wouldn't be deterred by any threat in their mind or President Jonathan and added that the 2015 election remained a challenge  to the survival of the people of the region.

Low cholesterol slows HIV progression - study

Why some HIV-infected experience slower disease progression, even without medication? It has to do with cholesterol levels in specific immune cells, scientists have found, Business Standard reports.

A new discovery at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health suggested patients with HIV could live longer if cholesterol metabolism in their immune cells is regulated, said Giovanna Rappocciolo, lead author of the study.

"A fascinating aspect of the AIDS epidemic is that a small percentage of HIV-1-infected persons maintain a relatively normal number of CD4 T cells (Th cells) and low viral load for many years without receiving antiviral therapy," said Giovanna Rappocciolo from University of Pittsburgh.

Musician in Kano, Ahmed Audi Zarewa, arrested by SSS, for recording a song to protest against President GEJ

A well known musician in Kano, Ahmed Audi Zarewa, has been reportedly arrested by the State Security Service, SSS, for recording a tune to protest against President Goodluck Jonathan.

Based on a written report posted on El-Rufai.org, the artiste was said to have  been arrested by the SSS on Tuesday for allegedly recording an edition of a Hausa folk song titled “Zuwan Mai Malfa Kano.”

The song was said to have been recorded by Ahmed to protest President Jonathan and his entourage's singing and dancing rally held in Kano the morning that a lot more than 200 teenage girls were kidnapped from the senior high school in Chibok, Borno State.

The Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Ikoyi, Lagos, has arrested a 29-year-old man, Henry Ogu, for allegedly defrauding an American citizen (name withheld) of N52.5m ($350000).  His accomplice, 42-year-old Yunusa Okonkwo, was also arrested in connection with the fraud.  A statement by the SFU Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ngozi Isintume-Agu, said the unit had received a petition via email from  Ogu’s victims.

It read, 

“The victim, a US citizen resident in New Jersey, alleged that sometime in April 2013, she met Ogu on a dating site and both started a relationship which lasted for months until the suspect manipulated and made her to believe that he was in financial trouble in Nigeria.
“She further stated that she sent  $350,000.00 to the two account numbers that Ogu provided.  The account numbers were Skye Bank Account Number 36204796 and Ecobank account No. 04087350 belonging to Faneece Business Services International.”

The stars both took placards in hand to go against the kidnap of 234 young Nigerian girls fourteen days ago. Earlier the group were reportedly tear-gassed by the police, they continue steadily to March though.

Kenya Airways Unveils First African Woman Dreamliner Captain

Kenya Airways has revealed that Captain Irene Koki Mutungi is officially the first African woman to captain its dreamliner, following the arrival of the much anticipated plane last week.... She was recently promoted to be the first African captain on the world's latest plane, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Mutungi is a pilot at Kenya Airways for approximately six years, and has been flying as a First Officer on the 767-300ER, the 2nd largest aircraft in Kenya Airways'fleet. Based on Kenyaniaje, Mutungi was promoted to fly in the left hand seat of KQ's latest acquisition after completing her course for type conversion successfully....

 After Barcelona defender Dani Alves ate the banana that was thrown at him, he started a revolution. Today, it's taken over the social media. 

The racist incident happened during Barcelona's match against Villarreal on Sunday, when a banana was thrown onto the pitch towards Dani Alves as he tried to take a corner-kick. Everyone was amazed as Dani picked it up, peeled it back and ate it. And ever since then, he's been receiving massive support against racism.

Speaking after the match Alves said:

"We have suffered this in Spain for some time, you have to take it with a dose of humour. We aren't going to change things easily. If you don't give it importance, they don't achieve their objective. I don’t know who it was, but thanks to whoever threw the banana, the potassium gave me the energy for the two crosses which led to a goal.”

In accordance with a recently released study by EY, an international business and financial advisory firm, Nigerian bank customers have already been rated the heaviest users of Automated Teller Machines in the world. The study also rated Nigeria as one of the top three countries whose bank customers use social networking when making  decisions on selecting an financial service provider. The study also shows that Nigerian bank customers have the highest banking sensitivity and are the second highest globally to close accounts predicated on poor experience.

 Mothers and other aggrieved indigenes of Chibok, Borno, yesterday staged a protest at the National Assembly calling on the federal government to accelerate the release of these daughters that have been kidnapped from the Government Girls Secondary school on April 14th. 

The ladies underneath the aegies of Kibaku Development Association and led by senior female police officers converged at the Eagle Square Abuja, all dressed up in black, from where they marched peacefully to the National Assembly, wailing and pleading for help from the govt. Senators Barnabas Gemade and Helen Esuene received the protesters and said the senate is considering raising a motion as regards the kidnapped girls for your house to deliberate on.
