A Russian billionaire, Dmitry Rybolovlev has been asked by a Swiss Court to pay a "super-whooping" sum of $4.5 billion to his ex-wife, Elena Rybolovleva. I just tried to calculate that in Naira and honestly the result is really deceiving me. 

 Ranked 147th on Forbes set of billionaires and with a fortune of $8.8 billion, Fertilizer king as he's fondly called also owns French soccer club, AS Monaco. Well, he is expected to make an appeal within 30 days. The couple got married for 27 years, have two daughters, the ex-wife also gets custody of the 13-year-old.

Senate House of rep okays state of Emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa

The Senate today gave its nod for the extension of Emergency Rule in the troubled North East states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa. The House of Reps had on May 15th approved the extension. With the Senate's approval, extension of Emergency Rule by the Federal Government is now able to be effected by 6 months.

Hollywood actor Michael Jace arrested for killing his wife of 9 years

 US actor Michael Jace has been arrested for shooting his wife dead at their South Los Angeles home. In accordance with reports, the actor, best known for his role on The Shield as Julien Lowe, a gay police struggling with his s3xual identity, called 911 late yesterday Monday May 19th and confessed to shooting his wife of nine years. 

When police got to their home at Brynhurst Avenue in Hyde Park, they  met  Michael Jace, 51, and discovered April Jace, 40, experiencing multiple gunshot wounds, NBC reports. April Jace was declared dead by paramedics at the scene. The couple's two children, both boys under the age of 10, were in the home at the time of the shooting but LA police said it is unclear if the boys witnessed the shooting and still do not know why the actor shot his wife dead. Like a giant masquerade in the market place, all eyes were on 20-year-old Nigerian, Merrilyn Akpapuna, two Saturdays ago at the Dillard University, New Orleans, United States.

The Psychology graduate not only obtained the highest academic honour Summa Cum Laude (first class), she also emerged the best graduating student in the ivory tower. As the institution’s valedictorian, she was on the same podium with the wife of the President, Michelle Obama, during its convocation.

Pastor Adeboye Suspends Hundreds Of Church Workers

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adejare Adeboye, has suspended workers of the church who did not attend the National Workers Meeting held recently.  The annual national workers'meeting is a forum for all the workers of the church to generally meet with the leadership and it usually holds on Saturday ahead of the Holy Ghost Service of each and every year.

The specific number of the workers affected in eight states within the South-West Region of the church couldn't be ascertained as at the time with this report, but it's believed those involved can't be less than 1,000 of the workers.

A Nigerian Custom officer named Mr Nwaeze who heads the Customs unit at Mosafejo Aradagun, has been accused of allegedly attacking  a woman identified as Ms Tope Fadipe with acid after an argument over money.

 

Sahara Reporters reports that Ms Fadipe, who served as a salesgirl at a local food business run by Mr Nwanze's family for 3 years, was attacked by an angry Nwaeze on Friday May 9th, after she argued with him when he accused of her of not remitting N50,000 into the business account.

 

After the acid attack, the matter was reported at the Badagry Police Station, and Mr. Nwaeze had boasted that no one could arrest him. On Saturday, the 10th of May, one day after the incident, Mr. Nwaeze was said to have appeared at the Police Station, and had returned shortly afterwards to show he is above arrest. Continue...

Earlier on Sunday, the EFCC said it arrested a man who claimed to be Gen. Buhari’s son over alleged N20m fraud.

However, Buhari distanced himself from the suspect, maintaining that he is not his son.

In a recent interview with City People magazine, Nollywood screen legend Joke Silva talked about her lack of cooking skills and other ways she takes care of her husband, screen legend, Olu Jacobs..

"I have never lied about this, I have never been 'a doing the cooking kind of woman'. When my husband met me, he knew. He was the one who used to do the cooking because he is good at it. I used to do the cooking when I felt like. Sometimes, it comes out to be a huge success and sometimes a failure. Some years ago, I cooked vegetables and it was terrible and my husband is such a gem, he ate it like that. It is not as if my mum didn't teach me. For my husband, cooking is a therapy and for me it is a chore and yet he will always tell you that I look after him so much, I do that in other ways. We have somebody who does the cooking. I have taught them to cook the way I like and we have people who do the general cleaning."
