Budding Actress, Kiki Omeili Beats Oge Okoye At Afro Hollywood Awards Event In Akure**Tonto Dikeh, Femi Adebayo, Others Head To London As Winners



 According to information made available to Nigeriafilms.com, up and coming actress, Kiki Omeili of 'Married But Living Single', which starred Funke Akindele and Joseph Benjamin, has been announced the winner in the Best actress in a supporting role (English language film) that had Nse Ikpe Etim and Oge Okoye.

Kiki was announced winner for the 17th African Film Awards 2012 otherwise known as Afro Hollywood Awards at a special ceremony held in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria on Wednesday 10 October. This has now qualified her, along with other winners, to attend the 17th African Film Awards 2012 ceremony holding on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the historic Stratford Town Hall, 29 Broadway, Stratford, London, UK.


Also announced winners at the announcement ceremony held in Akure were Tonto Dikeh who defeated Chika Ike and Omoni Oboli to win as the best actress (English movie), Femi Adebayo, Hafiz Oyetoro, Helen Paul, Andy Best and others.


The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Governorship candidate in Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), who attended the event said "I'm happy Governor Rauf Aregbesola supports you and I want to assure you that if we are voted into power in Ondo, he will not saddle it alone, we shall support.


"To our artistes here tonight, your endorsement mean a lot to us. Your presence at our campaigns mean a lot to us. A lot of people come to our campaigns because they want to see you, listen to you."


The publisher of African Voice Newspaper UK, which organised the awards, Prince Mike Abiola, said, "I am pleased with the result of the strenuous work of the distinguished and independent panel of film critics who endeavored to see many Nollywood films to arrive at the winners.


"Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. The decision to host the ceremony in Ondo State was made as part of the need for changes to how African leaders support entertainment and tourism."


The winner of the African Actor of the Year will be announced in London at the glamorous ceremony. Joseph Benjamin of Nigeria (Tango With Me), Van Vicker of Ghana and South Africa?s Jafta Mamabolo (Otelo Burning) are contesting for the award's category.?
