Temptress who swindled elderly man arrested after 6 years

A temptress on the lam for six years after she was convicted of milking an elderly Queens man out of his life savings has been busted halfway across the country, authorities said Tuesday.
Natasha Munchkin Marks — who pleaded guilty in 2007 to grand larceny charges for stealing $850,000 from then 85-year-old Louis Bruno of Howard Beach — jumped bail after promising to pay restitution.
A fugitive ever since, she was arrested in Oklahoma City on April 2, officials said.
“You can run, but you cannot hide from justice,” said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown in a statement.

The sweetheart swindler, now 26, first met the retired toll-booth clerk at a grocery store when she was 18 years old — then spent the next two years conning him out of a fortune, authorities said.
Marks, who was known to Bruno only as “Sandy,” claimed the cash he gave her had gone toward medical bills and investments. She eventually gained power-of-attorney over Bruno’s finances and managed to take out a $560,000 loan against the equity in his Howard Beach home. Still, the lovelorn victim had planned on popping the question until Marks was collared while trying to scam $5,000 out of another elderly man.
She is expected to be returned to New York Wednesday to be arraigned in Queens Supreme Court.
