Woman mutilates friend for sleeping with her husband

Thirty-three years old Nimita Orelope has been friends with Faith for more than 20 years. They share practically everything with joy and camaraderie. However, Faith’s attempt to extend the sharing to her friend’s husband proved almost fatal. She is now recuperating in an undisclosed hospital where she is being treated for multiple cuts.
Nimota, 33, has been friends with Faith for well over 20 years. The duo reportedly began their friendship in a secondary school in Osogbo, Osun State where they met. While Nimota hails from Ikirun, in the state, Faith is from Asaba, Delta State.
The two women remained inseparable since they started their friendship until three years ago when Nimota settled down with her husband in Osogbo. However, Faith, on her part, is yet to get married.

But she is said to be in a serious relationship with a man in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Faith is a teacher in a private secondary school at Agboju Amuwo, in Lagos State. She had gone to spend the on-going holiday with her friend in Osogbo since early last month. Though Adetoro, Nimota’s husband, lives in Osogbo with his family, he reportedly shuttles between his base and Lagos for his business.
It is said that he usually spend his weekends in Lagos ostensibly to meet with his clients who would be on weekend break by then. But the bubble burst last week when Nimota reportedly caught her friend pants down with her husband in Faith’s Lagos apartment.
It was gathered that reports had been getting to Nimota, a long time ago, that Faith was having an amorous affair with her husband and that the two of them were always together once the man came to Lagos every weekend. At first Nimota would not want to hear of the story, but it continued to come thick and fast.
At a stage when she could no longer stomach the allegations, she began to monitor her husband’s and friend’s telephone conversations. She declined to confront her husband or friend with the allegation; instead she chose to catch them red-handed.
And that, she did recently, when she caught her husband in her friend’s house, half naked. It was reported that since early March, 2013, Adetoro had not been coming to Lagos as he used to do. He had reportedly told his wife that his clients were abroad during the period. And that was the time, Faith was holidaying with the Orelopes in Osogbo.
Faith had told Nimota and her husband that she would be going back to Lagos on Saturday, 6 April, 2013. And that was the day Adetoro chose to resume his Lagos trips. Since Adetoro and Faith were leaving for Lagos on the same day, it became obvious that Faith had to ride with her friend’s husband to Lagos. So, Faith and Adetoro set out for Lagos from Osogbo in the early hours of the fateful day.
With the stories of the amorous relationship between her husband and her friend, Nimota became uncomfortable with their movement, but she could not confront any of them with the story. But about two hours after Adetoro and Faith had left for Lagos, Nimota reportedly dropped her two-year-old baby with a neighbour and headed for the motor park. She also took off for Lagos hoping to see things for herself.
However, when she got to Lagos she did not go to directly to Faith’s Ijeshatedo residence. She reportedly stayed all day at an eatery in Aguda, Surulere, Lagos State. While she was at the eatery, Nimota had reportedly called her friend and husband many times and the two of them told her that they had separated the moment they got to Lagos. But around 8:00p.m, Nimota headed for her friend’s house.
Behold, she found her husband’s car parked in front of Faith’s apartment. Since Faith lives in a self-contained apartment in front of a two-storey building on the street, it was easy for her to access her friend’s room.
Sighting her husband’s car neatly parked sent a chill through her. She wasted no time but headed straight for her friend’s apartment. Fortunately for her, the door to Faith’s apartment was not unlocked. Without knocking, Nimota reportedly barged into the flat. She reportedly met her husband in his boxer shorts and lying down on the bed with Faith in her panties sitting beside him.
Both Adetoro and Faith, were shell shocked for seconds when they saw Nimota barged into the room. Nimota reportedly did not wait for any of the two to offer explanation, but dashed for a cutlass at the bedside and aimed it at her friend’s face.
The cutlass reportedly cut part of Faith’s left cheek. The second attempt by the woman against her friend saw her chopped off two of Faith’s fingers. Having realised her purpose, Nimota reportedly ran out of the compound and disappeared into the night.
Adetoro, still reeling in shock over his wife’s appearance in Lagos, hurriedly rushed Faith to an undisclosed hospital in Surulere area of Lagos State, where she is reportedly receiving treatment.
Speaking on the matter, a neighbour identified as Mr. Frank, said that fellow tenants of Faith thought Adetoro was her husband, because he was always around every weekend. “The incident was a shock to everyone in the compound. It was the lady’s (Faith) screams that attracted us and we all rushed there. By the time we got there, the damage had been done.
We met Faith bleeding profusely and with almost half her face sliced off while two of her fingers were near chopped off. Honestly, no one knew that the man is not her husband because he frequently comes there. I think Faith once told some people before that she was the man’s second wife,” Mr. Frank said. A daughter of the landlord of the house, who preferred anonymity, also said that Nimota, before entering the house, had stopped in her mother’s shop in front of the house to buy a sachet of juice.
“I was in the shop when the woman came in and requested for juice drink. While I was trying to attend to her, she asked if Aunty Faith was around and I said ‘Yes’. She also asked if her husband was around and I said ‘Yes’.
She claimed she attended the same church with Aunty Faith. That was when she went into the compound,” the lady said. Adetoro could not be reached for comment on the matter. A neighbour, however, said the occupants of the building are considering reporting the matter to the police
