Do you think marriage can ruin a great relationship? -

Beninese actor Djimon Honsou married model/mogul Kimora Lee Simmons in a traditional African ceremony in Benin Republic back in back in 2009 & the couple shockingly called it quits last year. It seems that experience left a bad taste in the actor’s mouth as he is now anti-marriage.
While promoting his new movie “Baggage Claim,” with Taye Diggs & Boris Kodjoe, Djimon said:

Continue after the break.

The idea of marrying somebody can actually ruin the union. Some people are very happy together for decades and they get this fantasy idea of going to get married and it’s just about papers. Signing papers. Eventually, it just goes sour.

Hmmmm, he may have point here. I’m not anti marriage or anything but I know a lot of couples who were so happy when they were dating & now that they are married they can barely stand each other, and these are not couples that have been married for decades, I’m talking between a year & 3.

In our society the rush to get married is usually by any means necessary, are people realistic about their expectations from marriage?
So let’s talk.
Do you think marriage can ruin a great relationship? For those of you that are married or have been what has your experience been & what would be your advise for the single folk?
