Just In: Asari Dokubo Nabbed In Cotonou, Benin Republic

Security officials in Benin Republic have arrested Asari Dokubo, his attorney, Festus Keyamo, claimed on Thursday evening.
In line with the info given by Mr. Keyamo in a record, the Streams born former armed fighter was on Thursday "arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, around the hours of just one:00pm and 2:00pm by the country's gendarmes (Police Force)."

The wealthy former militant reportedly launched a private college in the Benin Republic, the King Amachree African School that is preparing to start degree-awarding programmes in 2014.
Keyamo said,

"We want to emphasise that Alhaji Dokubo-Asari carries on legitimate business and has been living partly in Benin Republic for many years now"
"In fact, he owns houses, schools and an academy in that country. All these places have been searched as at this evening and nothing incriminating was found."
He proposed that Dokubo's charge and detention might be a scheme by "specific causes in Nigeria in unholy alliance with the Beninoise government" to keep his customer out as 2015 approaches.
More over, the attorney included,
"We call on the Nigerian government to straight away intervene and ensure that no damage befalls Alhaji Dokubo-Asari and to utilize all diplomatic way to secure his immediate release and safe return to Nigeria,"
Dokubo has recently promised that until Mr. Leader Jonathan maintains the presidency in 2015, Nigeria would separate up.
