Nigerian Student Protest in front of University in Poland for No-Refund after visa was denied (Pictured)

I am very sure a lot of students or prospective students out there have similar stories to tell.  Almost the same thing happened to a friend way back in 2004. He applied to Greenwich University in London and  got denied each time.  However, the university up-till now refuse to pay back a refund. He paid about 5000 pounds (plus processing fee) and each time he asked for a refund, you hear all sort of stories but if he needed a new admission papers to re-apply  for  visa. They ask for more processing fee which is paid several times until my good friend stopped paying.

This official visa-school fee scam have continued to be the order of the day in the European  Education system for decades.

Here is another one from Poland.
Reports after the break.
A citizen of Nigeria on the second day of protests in front of the Polonia University in Częstochowa. The man demands the return of 6,500 euro, which he paid for studies. Studies, which could never be taken for reasons beyond his control - The Nigerian has not received a visa.

Adedeji Sunday Akintayo - a citizen of Nigeria has paid more than 6500 euros for college. Unfortunately, there was no Polish visa. In September last year, the first time the university was asked for a refund. - However, the university ignored him. Later tried to contact the varsity  by phone and e-mail, even hired a lawyer who sent three requests for a refund. Unsuccessfully - says in an interview with Jacek Spendel Onet, a Nigerian friend.

The actual reason that the university responded to the man through his lawyer. - Argued that Adedeji did not call a second time for a visa, and it's not true. We have confirmation of this fact from the embassy. Now the University maintains that Adedeji is a student and do not understand why he can not receive lectures - Says nervous Spendel.

Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Polonia University barricaded himself in his room from reporters TVP and called the police. Today, all of the representatives of the university did not want to talk to us. - Please send an e-mail with questions is all we heard from them - Says Onet News reporter

The Nigerian situation is dramatic. Since Friday, there is no where to live, no Money and if the protest will have no effect - in an act of desperation begin a hunger strike. The Nigerian protest daily from. 11 to 17

- Adedeji borrowed from family, friends in the bank. Now he is left with nothing and homeless.

A man by the name Mr John Godson promised to help the young Nigerian and has  also informed the Embassy of Nigeria in Poland.

Said;
 "This money should be refunded to you Adedejiemu. I have already written on this matter to the Vice-Rector, but so far I have not received any response. It is not true that the man did not pay again for a visa - as claimed by the university. We even have a confirmation from the embassy. If in the near future the university does not solve the problem, I'll have to ask the higher authorities - says MP John Godson.
As reported in the Polish Media
