Police NabsTwo For Sending SMS Threatening To Kidnap In Delta State




In an unrelated case three suspected kidnappers/thieves were arrested in Asaba.

The police in Delta State have arrested two women for allegedly sending a text message, threatening to kidnap a daughter of one Caroline Nnakwe.

The acting Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Charles Muka, said Nnakwe wrote a petition to the Commissioner of Police, adding that the people demanded ₦1.5m failure of which they would kidnap one of her daughter.


“Detectives commenced investigation and arrested one Mrs. Deborah, a self-acclaimed prophetess, and Mrs. Nkem Onyia, the owner of the GSM line used,” Muka said.

In another development, the acting PPRO said men of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad received information that four suspected kidnappers, operating with a Toyota Camry, attempted to kidnap one Idah Moses along Nnebisi Road, West End Asaba.

“Based on the information, detectives went in search of the said car. On May 27, at about 1.31pm, the Toyota Camry was sighted while the occupants were trying to steal a car parked on a bank premises.

“Consequently, they arrested one Frank Adigwe, Moses Eke and Lucky Ochongor,” he said.

Muka said the suspects had confessed to the crime, while one Mr. Idah Moses, earlier attacked by the gang, had identified them.
