Two Security Guards Attacks Man With Machetes in Lagos

Two security guards in Frankazi Street, Bucknor-Ejigbo area of Lagos State, western Nigeria, Frank Olise and Emmanuel Olise, have been arrested and charged before a magistrate’s court sitting in Lagos, over an alleged machete attack on a resident of the area.
It was alleged that the suspects, who were yet to be paid their three months salary, accosted the victim, David James, one of the residents that employed them, and attacked him with machetes.

We gathered that the residents of the area and the security men had a disagreement over the non-payment of their salary before the incident happened.
According to the victim, he was returning from work in the evening when they accosted him. He said he was surprised when the suspects asked him who he was and why he was returning home around 9 p.m.
The Kogi State-born James explained to them that he was a professional painter and they knew he lives in the area and does not return late.

He said before he knew what was happening, the guards started beating him and used machetes to attack him; and that even when he was bleeding profusely and was pleading with them to spare his life, the suspects continued to beat him until he became unconscious.
He said he only regained consciousness in a hospital.
The matter was reported at Ejigbo Division and the two suspects were arrested and charged to court.
When they were arraigned, they pleaded not guilty.
Consequently, the presiding magistrate, Mr P. E. Nwaka adjourned the case till the outcome of the DPP’s advice but granted the suspectas bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
