Reasons Oyo Alaafin Celebrate Oranyan Festival:
(1). To showcase our rich and unique cultural heritage, to remember and honor our great Hero, Pathfinder, ORANYAN Akin Otun, Akin Osi, Olojo, First Alaafin Ipekun BA.
(2). To expose our tourist sites and attractions in Oyo town like Sango Shrine in
the Palace and Koso, Sogidi Stream in Awe, Agidan Hill of gods and goddesses, The Grinding Stones of Queen at Arole Oba House, Bara (The Burial Place of the kings), Soro Hill (The Talking Forest), and the architectural marvel of the Alaafin of Oyo Palace.
(3). To re-awaken a sense of cultural appreciation among youth.
(4). To engender people greater appreciation of the contributions of Oranyan to the development and sustenance of Yoruba Culture and Civilisation in General.
