Nigerian-born retired veteran footballer and philantropist - Kanu Nwankwo, yesterday gave out a Brand New Kia motor at St Leo's church compund Ikeja-Lagos yesterday 23rd october, 2013.

John Dumelo Donates College Supplies To Underprivileged Kids In Cameroon Via His Foundation




John Dumelo through  his Foundation donated school supplies including exercise books, pencils and erasers to over 100 pupils of the St. John Of God Catholic School positioned in a town called Bonadikombo, about 6 km from Limbe in Cameroon where in fact the actor have been filming.

#GoodPeopleThings: Ice Prince Launches Foundation For Orphans



Newly-crowned BET Best Africa Act, Ice Prince has announced he will be launching a foundation to cater for orphans in Ngieria
The rapper explained that he’s started ‘The Zamani Foundation’ for orphans because he too is an orphan – Ice Prince lost his mother on May 5, 2013, 11 years after he lost his father.
I want to do this for all the orphans out there‘, Ice Prince said while premiering his ‘VIP’ video on June 20 at Protea Hotel, Ikoyi. He also called out on every other celebrity for their support.
‘The Zamani Foundation’ will be launched with a concert right after the rapper releases his second album ‘Fire of Zamani’ on September 7, coinciding with the anniversary of the first Jos crisis.

Gates Foundation appoints first country rep. to Nigeria





The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, an NGO, has appointed Dr. Mairo Mandara as Country Representative to Nigeria. This was contained in a statement signed by Mr James Whittington, Senior Communications Officer, Africa and Middle East and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Friday.


The statement  said  Mandara is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, and has extensive knowledge of public health systems , managing maternal and child health programs in Nigeria.

Mr Laurie Lee, the Foundation’s Director for Africa said “we are delighted to have Mandara join the team at an incredibly important time for our work in Nigeria.  ``Her knowledge, experience and expertise will be hugely valuable in helping to improve people’s health and reducing poverty. ’’

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo launched his foundation on Friday February 8th at Grosvenor hotel in London.President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan was there with his wife Patience, President of Liberia -Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Ghana – John Mahama and President of Benin Republic -Yayi Boni also graced the occasion, Aliko Dangote, Edo state Governor- Adams Oshiomhole, Alao Akala were all at the launch.
