The Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye, was today honoured with an Award of Excellence by the Alumni Association of the Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Noforija, Epe.
Mr. Idris Salami, the National President of the Association, while presenting the award, said the Commissioner was honoured because of her selfless commitment to the development of humanity and outstanding contributions towards a better Nigeria, adding that she is a thoroughbred personality who is committed towards ensuring the success of government’s efforts by her doggedness to ensure a better community.
According to him, “it is indeed in respect of this thoroughbred personality that we have gathered here today to celebrate a leader who indeed has the belief that there is light at the end of the tunnel, realizing the need to ensure the success of government’s efforts through her doggedness towards a better community.”
He noted that there are still a sizeable number of honest, steadfast and selfless political office holders and leaders who are not interested in what they will benefit from government but rather are concerned with how to make life worth living for the teeming masses hence the need to honour and recognize them.
“The Alumni Association and myself are proud to be associated with the awardee for her outstanding contributions towards a better Nigeria, which is worthy of emulation,” Salami added.
Responding, the Commissioner appreciated the alumni for deeming her fit for the award and dedicated the award to teachers in the State who have dedicated themselves to the development of children as well as to Parents who have taken up the responsibility of ensuring that their children are catered for.
She commended the alumni and pledged her continued support to their efforts of giving to those in need, stressing that children that are been trained today will take care of our tomorrow.
Mrs. Oladunjoye attributed her success at the Ministry to the officials of the Ministry who have wholeheartedly keyed-in into her vision.
