A man shot his daughter while wanting to kill his daughter's boyfriend, in accordance with police reports. The lady was shot accidentally by her father as he pointed the gun at her boyfriend within a dispute in the household home, his defense attorney told the court. Dante D. White, 49, was arrested after his daughter, 25, was shot in the arm at his house St. Austin, Chicago, on the weekend.

The daughter of White was shot as she stepped between her father and her boyfriend, a Chicago Police told news reporters. Police were called to the address in St. Austin, on the West Side of Chicago, Illinois, at 2:00 pm on Saturday. The daughter was taken up to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was reported to stay stable condition.

Another daughter and five grandchildren of White were also on the property once the incident occurred. White fled the scene following the shooting, but was later located by police. The officers were resulted in a trash can where he dumped the .25-caliber pistol following the altercation. The gun was found to contain two live rounds. White faces charges of defacing the serial quantity of the weapon and unauthorized usage of a weapon by a felon, having previously been convicted of possession of a controlled substance.
