(AP)A child’s whispered 911 call seeking help at an eastern Pennsylvania home has led to the arrest of a man accused of threatening to kill a woman with a butcher knife.
Coopersburg police say they responded to the home early Sunday after the child called emergency dispatchers, whispered “Help us” and hung up.

The Express-Times newspaper (http://bit.ly/14Yty72) says by the time officers reached the house Melissa Amey and her three kids had escaped to a convenience store. Amey told officers Miguel Espada attacked her and threatened her with the knife.
Court records say Espada lives in the home but don’t say what his relationship is with Amey.
Police say Espada refused to leave the house for an hour before surrendering. He’s charged with assault, endangerment and related offenses and is jailed. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
