Good Gist: African engineer successfully creates 3D printer out of e-waste; costs less than ₦16000 ($100)




Kodjo Afate Gnikou from Togo, West Africa, created a fully practical 3D printer out of rails and devices from old scanners, the case of a discarded pc and even items of a diskette drive.He calls the planet to offer talented Africans the opportunity as his design would cost just $100.

"Set engineering in to needy arms and provide Africa the ability not to just be a spectator but to perform the initial position in an even more virtuous industrial innovation," says Gnikou's fundraiser page.
 The man currently works as an creator for WoeLab in Lomé.His aspiration was to produce anything useful for astronauts in their missions in place and and also to show that anything might be created out of, what's regarded, applied material.
