Hoping for more time and energy to handle the problem, Mr. Samuel Ajanaku told the judge that the delay from the government to work through an acceptable term of settlement and provide same to the judge was as a result of bureaucracy in the system.
He thus prompted the presiding judge, Justice Modupe Onyeabo to grant further adjournment allow equally events end on the settlement terms.
The Muslim Scholar Association of Nigeria(MSSN) had drawn their state government to judge within the ban, maintaining that the ban by their state violates their essential human rights.
The applicants may also be contending that banning girl pupils from applying Hijab on or outside the premises of any instructional institution in Lagos State “is wrongful and unconstitutional.
Once the subject came up yesterday,counsel to the MSSN, Lagos State Region Model, Mr. Adetola Kasim (SAN), asked the judge to proceed for the hearing of the case, since in accordance with him, the State Government had not taken care of a proposal for terms of settlement delivered since July, 2013.
Adetola prompted the judge to allow case proceed as it is of high community interest which cannot wait any longer. The state through its counsel but, pleaded for further adjournment, claiming that the terms are now at the office of the governor.
Justice Onyeabo granted the application and adjourned the case till December 19 for record on settlement
