Condom is not the solution to HIV/AIDS says BSN

The Bible Society of Nigeria says adoption of right conduct by every member of society is the only means of ending the HIV/AIDS scourge in the country.

The General Secretary of the BSN, Dare Ajiboye, said the use of condom was not always safe and should not be encouraged or preferred over right conduct.

Ajiboye spoke at a press conference held at the Bible Guest House, Ilupeju, Lagos, a statement said on Sunday.

The Swiss Aids Federation has thrown its weight behind the production of condoms for children aged between 12 and 14 years old.
The smaller sized condoms are the result of a study by the Federal Commission on Children and Youth which revealed that teenagers in Switzerland were having unprotected sex because they could not find condoms that fit them.

“Offering time, blessing time!” So goes the chorus from members of the congregation whenever it’s time to give offering in most churches.

 To most Christians, the offering time is, indeed, a time of immense financial blessing. But recently, the offering time turned into a moment of hot curses in a Lagos church when an already used condom, dripping with semen, was discovered inside the offering box after the Sunday service.

It was like a weird dream, according to the former Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogba Zone, Prophet Tobi Okonkwo, who witnessed the incident. The cleric said he couldn’t believe his eyes when a discarded condom, with stains, was discovered in an envelope in the offertory box of his former church.
