Everyone Is Crazy In Lagos – Etcetera

Here’s another interesting Saturday write-up by Etcetera:

Few weeks ago, I got a call from a friend asking me out for a drink, but I was already at the Lagos airport. “I’m not going to be around for the next few days,” I told him. “I’m going to Abuja.” His immediate reaction was – “Why? What’s wrong? Do you want to bore yourself to death?”

Etcetera: 'Nigerian pastors need to be born again' -

Another article from Etcetera. I have a feeling some of you will agree with him this time. Read below
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again” (John 3:1-7).
Pastors are supposed to be the conscience of the society. They are supposed to be God’s representatives here on earth. Like Elisha in the Bible, they are supposed to warn the people about the dangers of disobeying God and guide them to the path of righteousness. They are supposed to lead by example.

MBGN & Other Beauty Pageants Should Be Banned - Etcetera

Every year, thousands of girls compete in various beauty pageants across Nigeria. While the organisers may believe that they are helping our girls to feel “beautiful,” they are also in many other ways causing significant damage to the self-esteem and body perception of other girls.

The girl who won may feel as beautiful as the prettiest woman ever created, but what about the girls who didn’t win? How do they feel?

Yawa Video: Beatfm Programmes Director, Olisa Adibua says Etcetera is a nobody, a failed artist.

Beatfm Programmes Director and popular On-Air-Personality Olisa Adibua has also slammed singer turned writer Etcetera for criticizing radio personalities (read here

Speaking with NigezieTV's Extra, Adibua said;
"Etcetera is a nobody. He's a failed artist. I can not comment on anybody who is a nobody. I hate the fact that Nigerians pick on people who are nothing. He's a nobody so no one should take him seriously. What has he done? Who is he? Etcetera, shut up! If you want to get recognition, bring out a song. I'm not against any idiots who don't have any talents. If you want to make a statement, make a statement with a record. If you want to say something, say it in a creative manner, in a constructive manner."

Chai: Bread & butter celebrities & failed marriages' - written by Etcetera

Now singer turned writer Etcetera writes about celebs and why some of their marriages fail. Read below...
If you listen to relationship programmes on radio, you would notice that many Nigerians are indeed struggling with their relationships and marriages and they are all seeking help. And because they do not have a glaring media attention serialising their issues, making judgments, giving strong commentary, poking them emotionally, there are chances of their relationships and marriages problems being solved.
Why is it that with the fame, fortune and good looks, our celebrities’ marriages still don’t work? It has been a strange phenomenon that the union of people in the limelight hardly lasts, indeed. So the question is, why do most celebrity marriages crash frequently?

"Artists who show off on social media are asking for trouble"- Etcetera says

Reacting to Alibaba's position on the features of Nigerian celebrities showing off their possessions online, Etcetera said he doesn't agree with the practice.

Addressing Punch, the singer said celebs who do this are seeking trouble.
"I think that artistes who are in the habit of posting expensive items on social media should tread carefully because of the present situation in the country. If they continue to do this, they might be asking for trouble. Also, artistes, who prefer to have their names on the license plates of their cars, had better watch it. If their colleagues in the United States do these things, it doesn’t mean it is okay to do so in Nigeria.”

How we helped politicians to eliminate our supporters in Nyanya - by Etcetera

Artist Etcetera feels Nigerian artists are partially to be blamed for what occurred at Nyanya Engine Park yesterday. Check out his view below...
For God's sake, can Somebody please call Dbanj, Don Jazzy, Onyeka Onwenu, Duncan Mighty, Stephanie Okereke, Genevieve Nnaji, Funke Akindele, Omotola, Rita Dominic, Aki and Pawpaw, Sammy Okposo, Sunny Neji, Maleke, Okey Bakassi, Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Daddy Showkey, Richard Mofe Damijo, Kwam 1 and other entertainers that have at one time or the other been seen dining with politicians? Can you please tell them that there has been a bomb blast in Nyanya? Can you include pictures of the mutilated bodies? Please don't forget to tell them that most of the dead might have been lovers of their music and movies and cheered them in every concert and football matches they played both at club level and the national team. Tell them that their CDs and Movies were bought by those dead fans for inspiration and because they wanted to feel alive and ease off the daily tensions faced everyday in this country.
