NDLEA arrest smugglers who hid ₦119m worth of drugs in perfume bottles



Officials of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested two suspected drug smugglers, Marvin Daniel and Victor Akubuo (pictured above) for smuggling N119m worth of illegal substances that tested positive for cocaine. The drugs were concealed inside perfume bottles and capacitors. 

The suspects flew from Dubai into Lagos with the illegal substances and were arrested after a screening of their luggage at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. While one of the suspects, Daniel hid 7.58 kg of the drugs in capacitors, Akubuo concealed his, weighing 5.75kg, inside perfume bottles.

Pres. GEJ appoints Roli George as new Director-General, NDLEA





President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has appointed Mrs. Roli Bode-George as the Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). 
Mrs Bode-George takes over from Mr Olufemi Ajayi, who is now the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF). 
The appointment is with immediate effect.

NDLEA drags student to court for smoking Indian hemp




The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has dragged one Jude Ugwu, a post graduate student of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), to the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu for hemp smoking.

The counsel to the plaintiff, Mr Uzoamaka Anigwe, said Ugwu was caught by the operatives of the NDLEA smoking Indian hemp around the Okpara Square axis in Independence Layout while standing alone.

Anigwe said that when he was sighted by a patrol team of the NDLEA, the accused made to run away.

NDLEA Appoints Stella Damasus As Ambassadors





The National Law and Drug Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has appointed sultry actress, Stella Damasus and singer Yinka Lawanson, otherwise known as Lamboginny, as its ambassadors. This is the first time the agency will appoint ambassadors.  Speaking during the official unveiling of the new ambassadors at the NDLEA headquarters in Lagos yesterday morning, the Director General of the agency, Dr. Femi Ajayi, said Stella and Lamboginny were painstakingly picked for the honour due to their outstanding positive impacts on youths and the society at large.
