Photo: Man who robs by drugging his victims nabbed




The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command has arrested 39 year old Akeem Ogunniran, an indigene of Osun State, who allegedly robs jewelries merchants of their jewelries after drugging them.

Akeem was arrested after he allegedly drugged two women then robbed them of their jewelry valued at about N7million. Feigning to become a wealthy man, Police say Akeem, after identifying jewelry dealers will invite them to his accommodation, claiming he wants to purchase jewelry from them. If they reach his accommodation, he'll offer them drinks already drugged and immediately his victims fall under the influence of the sedative, then absconds with their goods.

Police say he'd been arrested repeatedly for similar cases but had managed to flee prosecution

Keyboard Masters: Police arrest 1st Class honors graduate, others over internet fraud



The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) have arrested a 6-man internet fraud syndicate that includes a First Class honor graduate who specialize in designing the organisation’s websites and using same to defraud unsuspecting job seekers, this is according to a report on the Nigerian police website.

A petition dated 22nd August 2013, received from OPEC FUND for International Development alleged that a website designed as “OFID Scholarship Website” with OFID name and logo has been used to defraud innocent Nigerian applicants.  That in the website, applicants were required to pay N2,500.00 as an application fee and over 2,000 applicants responded and paid the fees through the First Bank Account Number 2020874607 and Access Bank Account Number 0056941009 with the name OFID WSAS NG.  The petitioner stated further that it was one of the victims that contacted OFID via facebook, accusing OFID of being complicit in the fraud.

Police arrest Ekiti APC leader, others for robbery



The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force, Adeniji-Adele Street, Lagos, on Monday paraded a chief of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Itunnu Odeyemi, and eight others, saying they were notorious for snatching exotic cars in the country.
The police said Odeyemi was also an APC Local Government Area executive in Efon-Alaaye, Ekiti State.

Other members of the nine-man gang are Omoniyi Ajewole, Oluseye Jacob, Oluwadamiliare Rasaki, Ajisafe Olawale, Ogunniyi Sunday, Tolani Babatunde, Abubakar Umar, and Ayodeji Olumudi.

Police arrest armed robbers while raping victim



The police have arrested four robbery suspects at the Ikeja area of Lagos State while they were having carnal knowledge of their victim, one Ogbonna, who was on her way to the office.
Our correspondent learnt that the suspects- Tochuckwu Ilom (21), Confidence Oziegbe (20), Simon Peter (25) and Nnemeka Ugochukwu (26) – had first dispossessed Ogbonna of her valuables before taking turns to rape her.
