For many, no price is too great to cover the goal of their religion. Some swear oaths of celibacy and silence and others are even prepared to die. Some Hindus, like the main one above, are prepared to pass through immense pain simply to honour their god. This ritual of stabbing and piercing occurs at the Thaipusam festival in Asia in reverence to Lord Murugan, a god.
