Police say a six-year-old was maced. A report posted today at International Business Times says a six-year-old girl was maced, after her father was brutally beaten, in a laundromat.
Fernando Gonzalez, 27, turned himself in to authorities after video of the incident was released to the public. In the video, Gonzalez is seen bursting into the laundromat and punching 47-year-old Derrick Dunn. Witnesses say Gonzalez then maced the young girl and her 47-year-old father.
According to the fire department, two other people were sprayed with mace during the incident and had to be taken to the hospital. They were treated for minor injuries. One witness, 11-year-old Star Mercer, says she had to go to the hospital after Gonzalez sprayed the Mace, because she inhaled it.
"I couldn't breathe," Mercer said.
"It was really, really awful," says witness Rita Ferguson. "The way he beat that man was horrible. He started spraying, we thought it was a gun or something."
Authorities say the attack occurred after an unidentified woman, who was with Gonzalez, engaged in a fight with Dunn over the use of a laundry cart
