WSNE: Prô-stitutes assault sanitation officials in Ondo



Two Security officials attached with the Ondo State Environmental Task Force for the monthly sanitation exercise yesterday received the beating of the lives when prôs-titutes from a brothel in the capital city, Akure, descended on them.
The State Commissioner for Environment in their state, Barrister Sola Ebiseni has ordered the seal off of the hotel. The two security officials, who sustained various levels of injuries, were on duty to monitor the monthly exercise when the prô-stitutes, who didn't observe the monthly exercise, ordered them out of the premises.
Ebiseeni, who led the job force team, had lay out as early as 8am to make sure strict compliance with the monthly environmental exercise.
The commissioner and his team visited some towns and villages although some arrests were made while pleading with the people to adhere to environmentally friendly law.

The monitoring exercise however, turned sour when the team got to Inner Circle Hotel at Oke padi off Lao street in Akure, their state capital, once they met the prô-stitutes and their customers drinking and dancing.
The duty force called on the manager of the brothel to call the prôstitutes and their customers to order by observing the sanitation exercise but the prôstitute and their customers descended on both officials saying the officials are disturbing them.
One of the officials while speaking with our correspondent said a few of the people across the compound, who have been prepared to comply making use of their order, were prevented by the prôs-titutes.

The official said further that the prôs-titute started to beat them once they tried to arrest them and their customers and the Civil Defence officials and one of the security personnel attached with the job force were equally beaten mercilessly by the prôs-titutes and their clients.
A female Civil Defence officer had her uniform torn into shreds by the irate women of easy virtue and it took the intervention of additional security men comprising of policemen, State Security Service official and Civil Defence to create the situation under control.

Once the commissioner visited the scene, he ordered the hotel premises to be sealed off and asked the prôs-titutes and their clients to be arrested and taken to police station for interrogation. He explained the offenders irrespective of facing environmental court would also be prosecuted for assault on government officials
Speaking by the end of this month's edition of environmentally friendly exercise, Ebiseeni said 22 persons caught violating environmental law were arrested and taken to court immediately.
