The engine uses search results from Google and Bing but sends them through a special filtering system which blocks Haram, or forbidden according to the Law of Islam, sites or content. It includes p0rnography, nudity, gay, lesbian, bisexual, gambling and anti-Islamic content.
If Halagoogling user try to search for terms like ‘p*rn', 'naked woman' or 'resurrection of Jesus', he will get only a message reading, 'No results found or you have searched Haram (forbidden) content'.

The search engine creators said in their blog that their product is still developing and encouraged users to report the cases when Halalgoogling fail to hide not-halal results.
It is reported that the Halal searching engine was made by “internet experts” across the globe who have been working on it for years.
