This episode’s guest on The Juice is none other than Timaya. He talks to Toolz about going from born again Choir boy to singing about a$$es and ukwu! In the super interesting interview Timaya says the industry made him change and he still begs for forgiveness after singing about bumbums.
Timaya said “My mind is always for God but I like this other side too”
Timaya also talks about new dancehall star Patoranking, who was unofficially signed to his “Dem Mama” label. Calling Patoranking disloyal.
Timaya was responsible for financing and promoting Patoranking’s hot single “Alubarika” including paying for the video. After the success of the single, Timaya was approached by a potential business partner who also wanted to invest in Patoranking.
The pop star was cool with the idea. However because of his busy schedule, Timaya wasn’t involved in Patoranking’s day to day affairs. The upcoming act and business partner started making moves on their own. Not before long, the business partner who heads Foston Musik told Timaya he had just bought Patoranking a car and a house in Lekki. The Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa wasn’t cool with this move, and said he didn’t want his acts to be distracted by early material success.
