The system has thrown up the failure of these youngsters, and not the youngsters being the cause of their own failure!! Nigeria has failed to properly invest in her youths. Youths have no investment in the system and the system has ruined them; therefore, the reason why they have floundered over the years; at least over the past 36 years.

Reading some of the comments on this thread gives me the impression that the inability of a critical mass of youngsters being able to do what is necessary to really take control of their country, justifies 70 + and 80+ old feckless cargoes to remain in power. What have these aimless, vision - less and incompetent expired old dolts done for the country, particularly for the youths in the last 35 years.
Ladies and gentlemen, any country that continues to have the old and the feckless at the helm of affairs, especially in an age of information technology, where young vibrant minds are needed to stimulate and develop the economy, such a country CAN NEVER PROSPER.
I read some where and watched a interview where some well articulated Nigerian youngsters made the case that they are not even given the opportunity to contribute to national development. One chap stressed that he is keen on getting into politics to make a difference, but he doesn't have the hundreds of millions of naira to even register, talk less of contesting elections, and that the old politicians would make sure he does not have the means to run for public office. When some of the fairly educated and idealistic youngsters are not even given an iota of a chance to run for public office , how do they contribute to and develop their nation, I ask??"
