Polythechnics & Colleges of Education students took to the street over ASUP strike



 Students from Polytechnics and Colleges of Education this morning took to the streets of Lagos to protest the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, ASUP, strike which has been on for over 9 months now. The strike has grounded academic activities in all Polytechnics and also halted the students' academic pursuits.

Also heard that police shot at the students protesting in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos this afternoon. See more pics from the protest after the break.

I Gave Up On Education When I Scored 17 out Of 400 In JAMB



Timaya was most likely the dullest student in his school days,  nevertheless the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa still makes an endeavor to inspire youths around the world along with his enormous success in the music industry and his ‘grass to grace'story.

Timaya ensured to talk about a tale during his eclectic performance at the next leg of Star Music Trek, which held in Uyo on April 12, 2014.
 

“Education is not for me,” the hit artiste confessed, “It is important, yes, but not for me for me”
“I scored 17 in JAMB, That's when I gave up. I don’t have the brain for education but for those of you who do, please go for it, it is good.” He further stressed.

Omotola set to speak at World Summit For Education



Nollywood queen, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde would be joining leaders from across the globe at the 2013 World Innovation Summit for Education, WISE 2013. The star actress would be delivering a speech at the event scheduled to hold in Doha, Qatar between October 29, 2013 and October 31, 2013. According to the organizers, the speakers at the 5th edition of the annual summit would be discussing and deliberating on Reinventing Education For Life. It was further disclosed that Omotola's involvement in the summit stems from her position and outburst on the ongoing ASUU strike.

5-Year-Olds Get S-ex-Education Book With É-xplicit D-épictions of Int-ércourse




German school children as young as five were given a s-éx-education book giving graphic advice on how to put on a condom and how to achieve org-ásms. Outraged parents complained when youngsters at a school in Berlin were given the book, called 'Where Do You Come From?', which features e-xplicit cartoon d-epictions of s-éx.
The book, which shows a couple called Lisa and Lars engaging in various of stages of intércourse, shows Lisa putting a condom on Lars and another image of the pair having s-éx.

School Ordered To Pay Pupil, Parents N3.3m For Poor Education



A school has been ordered to compensate a pupil and his parents for failing to improve his weak performance despite passing him from grade 1 to grade 2.
The Dubai-based private school will have to pay Dh77,500 (about N3.3m) in moral and financial compensation to the parents after the Dubai Appeal Court found the school was careless and inattentive in terms of catering proper educational care to the seven-year-old pupil.
The parents considered that the school had failed to pay proper attention to their son’s academic performance and held it responsible for failing to improve his standard, according to Abdullah Mohammad Klaib, Head of Dubai Civil Prosecution.
