“A passenger bus and a mini-truck packed with margarine, both on the top speed, were driving by when the Indomie vehicle swerved inside their direction. In a bid to steer clear of the vehicle, the bus swerved and in turn ran into the small vehicle and then dropped on the divider.

Lagos shutdown Mile2-Lagos-Badagry Expressway




Lagos State government has said the Badagry bound carriageway on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway will soon be closed to traffic between 7am and 12 noon today, to permit for construction of pedestrian bridge for the blue line rail project across the axis.

Disclosing this, Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, said the move was section of concerted efforts to deliver the very first phase of the Blue Line Rail Project, within the 10-lane, expansion road project of Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

See Photo of Lagos State Government's ten-lane Lagos-Badagry Expressway



This is a photo of the Lagos State Government's ten-lane Lagos-Badagry Expressway and railway line. Erm...yeah, people are already trading on the rail tracks. hehe
The Lagos –Badagry expressway is a Federal Government road which is currently being expanded to 10 lanes to accommodate a BRT lane and light rail through collaborative efforts of the state govt, the  federal govt and international financial agencies. Julius Berger is handling the 10 lane road segment while China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), is handling the Light Rail section of the road.
