Fb Post Of The Day: The 2 type of Nigerian Elite Who are against the Government of the Day

On the Nigerian elite who criticize the corrupt government of Nigeria. They fall into two categories. The first group are in majority. They cry because they are left out in the sharing of the national cake. Their price is very cheap for the government of the day to easily afford. Give them money, government patronage, political appointment, national award, import license, oil bloc or highly inflated contract. These guys will shut up immediately and fall in line with their pay masters. The second group are very few. They cannot be easily bought by the government of the day. Their price is too much for the government of Nigeria to afford. Their price is a good government and a transparent as well as an accountable leadership in place. The corrupt government cannot afford this price. They will either arrest them, malign them, destroy their reputations, accuse them falsely, kill them or run them out of Nigerian into exile. The late Fela Kuti, Gani Fawehinmi and few other Nigerians fall into this group" ‪#‎TheEliteOfNigeria‬ -

Government should stop giving actors money —John Okafor

Nollywood actor, John Okafor, berates some of his colleagues for receiving money from government in this interview with Jayne Augoye.
POPULAR actor, John Okafor has decried the absence of adequate structures in Nollywood.
Also he criticised the recent visit of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria to President Goodluck Jonathan, which did not appear to go down well with some people who queried the motive in the first place. For these critics, the actors only went to grab a ‘piece of the national cake.’ And though the actors concerned have since defended their decision to pay the President a courtesy visit, popular Nigerian comic actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, is still not pleased.

So there's a press statement from Edo State government denying hosting BBA winner, Dillish, last weekend. Well, they kinda have a point...they can say the federal government didn't host her, but Governor Adams Oshiomhole hosted her...and that's fact! She wasn't hosted at the federal government house, however the governor's private house in Edo state.

Dillish and additional girls were there on Saturday October 19th (for those wondering why she didn't make an appearance at Selly's party in Abuja that day) and we've the download of precisely what transpired but Iwe'll leave all that out because after all said and done, Gov Oshimhole is a single man. Our source could categorically state one thing for sure, Dillish gave a condition for accepting the invitation..she would only pay a courtesy visit and nothing more. All parties agreed!

Cult members have godfathers in government — Okebukola

In this interview with MOTUNRAYO JOEL, the President, UNESCO Global University Network for Innovation and former Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, Prof. Peter Okebukola, tackles various issues bedevilling the nation’s education system

If we compare the curriculum of secondary schools and universities, would you say there is a link between both curricula?
Yes of course, there is a link. The National Universities Commission  in developing or revising university curriculum, factors in the content of the lower level curriculum, in this case, that of the secondary level. Take the B.Sc. Chemistry programme for example, efforts are made to ensure that the contents of 100-level courses are pitched at the exit level of the senior school certificate. This way, fresh students are guaranteed smooth transition from secondary to the university.
