A renowned British actor of film, television and theatre, Chiwetel Ejiofor was born in July 1977 in London to Nigerian parents. He gained a scholarship to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art after he enrolled at the National Youth Theatre in 1995 and by age 19, and only three months into his course, Chiwetel was chosen by Steven Spielberg to play a small part in Amistad as James Covey.
His archive of awards and nominations include the BAFTA Orange Rising Star Award in 2006, five Golden Globe Award nominations and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor for his performance in Othello in 2008.

2) Megalyn Echikunwoke
MEGALYN Ann Echikunwoke was born in Washington, United States. She is an actress best known for her roles as Tara Price in CSI: Miami and Isabelle Tyler on The 4400.Her father is a Nigerian Igbo, while her mother is a German/Scots-Irish American. She has featured in many movies and TV series and she is a regular face for many movie lovers.
Some other popular movies and TV series that Megalyn had featured in include Funny Valentines, Like Family, ER, That ‘70’s Show, Spyder Games and as Senator David Palmer’s daughter, Nicole, in 24, among a whole lot of others.

BringBackOurBrothers: Plea from Incarcerated Nigerians Abroad
Members of the fresh start Youth Foundation led by its National Coordinator, Barr. Chidi Ujoatumba (standing Left on black Jacket), on June ninth at the Unity Fountain capital of Nigeria protested the continual immurement of Nigerians in Indonesia Prisons.
Barr. Ujoatumba said the essence of the rally was to spur immediate response from our government to the decision of the many Nigerians languishing in jail abroad particularly in Asian countries however Indonesia especially and to effect the jail Swap Agreement reached by the Nigeria government. Spanish police Apprehends 25 Nigerians for Allege ‘$-ex trafficking’
Spanish police say they've arrested 25 people in a sex-trafficking ring that brought women from Nigeria to act as prostitutes. The
ladies, allegedly lured with the promise of good jobs in Europe, were
first flown to Mexico or Brazil, travelling on false identity documents. From there, these were flown to Paris, then smuggled into Spain to work in the sex trade, police say.

ECOWAS ZONE: Do Nigerians Need Work Permit In Ghana ? ( Aki and Pawpaw Banned In Ghana over W.P)
The sudden ban of comic Nollywood actors Chinedu Ikedieze alias Aki and his movie buddy Osita Iheme aka Pawpaw from producing movies in Ghana has opened the old wound between Nigeria and Ghana.
In accordance with sources, the duo were recently prevented from taking part in a movie production in Kumasi Ghana mainly because they're Nigerians who require work permit to use in the country.

Nigerians Set To Experience 7 days Of Blackout
Nigerians will experience a week-long electricity rationing which will put the country into darkness for the period. This could be the longest period lately that the country could be confronted with blackout.
The development is coming couple of days following the Federal Government declared that its hand-over of the assets and facilities of PHCN including generation and distribution plants to private firms was successful.

Nigerians Abroad Answering The Question "Where Are You From"
OK, I spent some years in Nigerian before relocating abroad, but I have a tendency to constantly have this problem whenever I locate fellow Nigerian man. Usually the Non-Nigerians are cool when they just ask are you from Africa, and you say Yes, thats it, the whites, hispanic and Asians just really consider that if you're not American then you're from "Africa" /End of discussion. In the spirit of aproko that's been bestowed on all of us, Nigerians prefer to poke nose, when even whenever you answer you're from Nigeria they insist what side, which state and which local government area (seriously?).

Nigeria And Israel Sign Aviation Deal - Now Nigerians Can Fly To Holy Land Directly!
Nigeria and Israel signed a bilateral aviation deal, the Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA), that enables airlines from both countries to fly directly to one another without stopovers. Before this agreement was signed, Nigerians, including Christian Pilgrims, traveling to Israel had endure several flight changes, JNS.org reports the agreement has been inked during a trip of the Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan to Israel.

Check out Nigerians Reaction To Davido's New Skelewu Video By Moe Musa
Davido shot the video of his hit song, Skelewu by Nigeria's own video director, Sesan but 24 hours later, the singer tweeted that he wasn't pleased with it and would shoot another one in the UK.
Well, the newest Skelewu video shot by UK based Moe Musa premiered yesterday and it seems many Nigerians are not pleased about it, some still prefer Sesan's version.

34% of Nigerians believe indecent dressing is main cause of rape ( DO YOU AGREE? )
The NOI Polls, which can be an opinion polling and research organisation, established by the current Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and named after her, yesterday released results from its poll carried out in January 2013, in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child.

Insult: Tunisia Repatriates Baby, 90 Other Nigerians

In conjunction with the International Organisation for Immigration (IOM), no fewer than 100 Nigerians, including women and children, were Monday repatriated from Tunisia.
This is coming seven months after 26 illegal immigrants including eight Nigerians were repatriated by Mozambique immigration authorities and will bring to 686 Nigerians that have been evacuated from Tunisia, Libya and Gabon since 2011.
