Somewhere the other day throughout a talk with a male pal of mine, a really fairly woman with simple but really beautiful braids went by. My pal instantly remarked that such a woman would have been a very good “wifey” material.  I found it really fascinating that he can identify this by just her hairstyle.

I requested to know the reason behind this viewpoint; and remarkably I was informed having braids were a certain indicator of modesty.

OK, I spent some years in Nigerian before relocating abroad, but I have a tendency to constantly have this problem whenever I locate fellow Nigerian man. Usually the Non-Nigerians are cool when they just ask are you from Africa, and you say Yes, thats it, the whites, hispanic and Asians just really consider that if you're not American then you're from "Africa" /End of discussion. In the spirit of aproko that's been bestowed on all of us, Nigerians prefer to poke nose, when even whenever you answer you're from Nigeria they insist what side, which state and which local government area (seriously?).

If you ask me, I'll say I'm the crazy type. I love going gaga, I prefer my woman to be my type (crazy).

I like girls that smoke but it seems we Nigerians see them as bad girls (ashawo) but the truth is they smoke not because they are bad but it's just what they like doing. In France a 52-year-old woman sneaked into the exam room ‘dressed as a teenager’ willing to sit the end of term English exam for her daughter. She wore casual teenage clothes, namely low-waisted skinny jeans and Converse shoes. However, a sharp-eyed invigilator spotted the impostor for he knew how the 19-year-old daughter really looked like. Eventually, he called the police. The woman was arrested at the end of the exam, though, so as not to disturb other students. She was held briefly in custody and freely admitted what she had done. She said she was better at English than her daughter. The mother now faced fraud charges and a fine of up to £7,000. The daughter faced being banned from taking all public exams for five years, police said.

I was talking with some friends recently on the above topic and everyone had something interesting to say. It was quite enlightening to hear what the guys had to say about it.

The ladies in the group also had something different to say, but basically what each gender had to say was based primarily on gender lines.

V-írginity is like a balloon, one prick and it’s gone forever. Please pardon my pun here but what I’ve just said is true. Most of us place value on abstinence before marriage but we all also want to have a taste of the forbidden fruit so as to know what we are getting into when we get married.

Most people especially women say they want to remain as vírgins until they get married while a lot of young men are obsessed with the idea of having s-èx and being experienced before marriage.
