Members of the Yoruba film industry gathered at the Ibadan Civic Centre in Agodi for the third edition of the annual Yoruba Movies Academy Awards (YMAA) on Sunday.

The YMAA is annually put together to celebrate all the success stories of the Yoruba movie industry.
Actor Odunlade Adekola beat Actors Muyiwa Ademola, Femi Adebayo and Yomi Fash Lanso, carting away the best Actor award while Fathia Balogun won the best Actress award as against star Actresses Funke Akindele, Iyabo Ojo and Ayo Adesanyo.

 The quartet of Odunlade Adekola, Dayo Amusa, Fathia Balogun, and Femi Adebayo, are starring in a  new movie, titled Aroba, which is being directed by Adebayo Tijani. At the moment in the Yoruba movie industry, Odunlade Adekola is an household name, this Abeokuta-based actor always interpret his scripts very well, to the delight and enjoyment of movie buffs.   This tall, and gangling actor has proven his mettle in the industry, as a damn good actor, and this has earned him several awards and endorsement from a number of multinational companies, e.g he was a brand Ambassador for telecommunication giant, Glo and also to Ekiti State, whilehis face also grace many Billboard in Ogun State on tax advert by the state government.
