Finally, My Oga At The Top speaks

Obviously, Commandant Shem Obafaiye of the National Security and Civil Defence Corp, Oyo State, was not prepared for the aftermath of the live interview conducted with him on a Channels Television’s promamme, Sunrise, on March 16, 2013. Just one innocuous question – What is the website of the NSCDC? – and he tripped.

Exposed! Police Oga At The Top Forced Corporal To Arraign Innocent Man For Murder He Didn't Commit

Shock pervaded the quiet atmosphere of the Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, after an investigating police officer, Corporal Alagbe Olumide, admitted that he was forced by his Oga to arraign an innocent man, Ayodimeji Alegbeleye, for a murder crime he never committed.

Alegbeleye, 29, was being tried for the murder of one James Igbahan in January 2013 at Ajah. The police had claimed that the accused stabbed Igbahan with knife in his left ribs which led to his death...

After 2-counts were read to him, and he had pleaded not guilty, the prosecution lawyer filed application for his remand in prison custody pending the advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. However, the defence counsel protested the application, saying the accused knew nothing about the crime.

My Oga at the top: Why NSCDC redeployed Lagos commandant, Obafaiye

Fresh facts emerged yesterday as to why the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) redeployed its Lagos State Commandant, Mr. Shem Obafaye. Although NSCDC told journalists that Obafaye’s redeployment was part of the routine in the Corps, an impeccable source said in Abuja that the commandant was not redeployed because of the ill-fated interview he granted to Channels Television.
According to the source, Obafaye personally applied to be redeployed from Lagos State in the wake of the bad publicity generated as a result of the television interview.
The source said because of the overwhelming negative publicity generated by the interview, Obafaye applied to be allowed to swap positions with his Oyo State counterpart, Mr. Adesuyi Clement. He said: “Mr. Obafaye actually applied to be redeployed due to the bad publicity he got after that interview. So, he is going to be in charge in neighbouring Oyo State.

Finally ‘My Oga at the Top, Adesuyi replaces Obafaiye Shem as Lagos Commandant

Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has finally replaced Mr. Obafaiye Shem, the man who postulated the “my oga at the top” mantra, as commandant of Lagos State Command. He was replaced by Mr. Adesuyi Clement from Oyo State Command.

The Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Olu Abolurin, who was in Lagos weekend over the alleged killing of two of his officers by some policemen, introduced the new Commandant to journalists.

However, he did not give reasons for Obafaye’s removal but sources hinted that it may not be unconnected with his recent interview on Channels Television live programme.
