How police removed 'murder' charge against Ejigbo "pepper-trators" - by Joe Odumakin

Dr Joe Odumakin (pictured right) is a women's rights activist and the president of the rights groups, Women Arise for Change Initiative. She spearheaded the arrest of the men who tortured three Ejigbo women last year. The men were recently arraigned in court for conspiring to murder. But it's no further clear that one of the victims, Juliana, is dead. Check out What Dr. Joe wrote below.

Until that day some two months ago after we returned from Benin Republic to get clearance from their Interpol to excavate Juliana's body on forensic examination, I still carried the believe in my head that Juliana was underneath the mold of earth, near which I stood to promise her justice.

Maybe till now, I still do, because it sounds strange and mysterious to me that a family we had stood solidly for, even when we were yet to know or meet with them, carrying out protests and disturbing every institution for investigations, would turn back and suddenly change their story, which they made us in turn share to the world.

See the 5 Nigerian students arrested for Godwin Ayogu's murder

Five students of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, have already been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of 19 year old Godwin Ayogu, who was also a student of the school. Sadly, most of the students arrested are Nigerians, worst still, these were his friends. One particularly was his roommate.

The students arrested are: Ogunsanyo Abayomi (the roommate), Obi Mnaetochi Brendan Ilozumba, Oti Uchechukwu Chijooke, Jimoh Oluwatobiloba Timileyin and Isaac Ifidon (all pictured above).

It's thought that Ayogu was killed over money on the college campus. His body, with legs and hands tied, throat slit and intestines gushing out (last pic right), was then dumped at Amamoma on the outskirts of the university.
His reason behind death following a post-mortem examination, was presented with as stab wounds to the heart.

Attempted murder: Drama as defendant’s father weeps in court

There was a mild drama at a Lagos High Court yesterday in the trial of a commercial bus driver, Quadri Kasali, charged with alleged attempted murder of Justice Ebenezer Adebajo, as the father of the defendant disrupted the proceeding, pleading for mercy.  Justice Balogun had, at the last hearing, dismissed a bail application filed on behalf of the defendant, but assured an accelerated hearing of the case. Shortly after hearing resumed yesterday, the father of the defendant, Aderemi Kasali, suddenly interrupted the proceeding, lying flat on the floor, crying and pleading that the judge should have mercy on his son. It took the intervention of the court’s orderly to stop the drama when he took the man out of the courtroom as ordered by the judge.

Shocking! Read Femi Fani Kayode's piece on the Oskar Pistorius murder case

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode, shared his
thoughts on the Oskar Pistorius murder case. Oskar if you will all recall shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's day. He has since been charged with premeditated murder even though he insists it was all an accident.
Well Femi Fani Kayode kinda blamed the dead girl on provoking the double amputee athlete into a murderous rage. He said in his piece that Reeva was sent to Oskar by the devil to destroy him He referred to her as a Jezebel, Delilah, 'creature from the sea'...
As a woman, I'm appalled by this write up, which he has since deleted from his Facebook page. He's kinda blaming her for getting herself killed. Read it after the Break...
