An inmate who's currently serving a life prison sentence plus 30 years for murder and robbery, named Dexter Isaac has claimed responsibility for shooting Tupac Shakur in Manhattan's Quad Studios in November 1994, setting off a sequence result of violent reprisals that triggered the eventual murder of both Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., who had been originally blamed for the assault.

A California student accused of filing a false rapé report with police had placed an ad on Craigslist in which she sought to hire someone to beat her in exchange for s-éx, according to prosecutors.

Morgan Triplett, a 20-year-old student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, pleaded not guilty to charges in court March 29.

Prosecutors said a police investigation revealed that the young woman had placed two separate ads on Craigslist on Feb. 16, while visiting UC Santa Cruz for a lesbian, gay, bis-éxual and transgender conference. In the first ad, Triplett wrote that she wanted to hire someone to shoot her. In the other, posted later that night, the woman wrote that she wanted someone with a "strong hand" to "punch, kick and bruise her," stated that she would compensate the participant with s-éx, and said that "no charges would be filed," according to police.

Nigerian ladies have devised another survival strategy by getting pregnant for childless couples for a fee.  These ladies, called surrogate mothers, have even taken to the internet to advertise themselves to couples who are desperately in need of children.  Surrogacy is a process whereby willing ladies are contacted by either couples or fertility clinics to help carry pregnancies on behalf of childless couples. It often happens where married women find it difficult getting pregnant or where they have issues with their wombs.  Through medical science, a couple’s sperm and egg are collected and fertilised and then implanted into the surrogate mother who in-turn carries the pregnancy till it is due for delivery. The surrogate mother may then be flown out of the country or kept away from prying eyes and monitored till she is delivered of the baby.

Public Schools is paying 305 students with poor academic performance and behavior to attend summer school, the news media has learned.  Ninth graders are earning $5.25 an hour to participate in the "Summer Bridge" program, which is aimed at students identified by the D.C. Public Schools as less likely than their peers to graduate from high school in four years.
