As the November 16, 2013 gubernatorial election draws nearer, the APC candidate, Senator Chris Ngige has embroiled himself in unwanted controversy following allegations that he slapped a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Evaristus Ezekwona at a burial ceremony in Nanka, Agulu, Anambra State on Thursday.

Senator Ngige was said to have become  furious when he erroneously concluded that Rev. Fr. Ezekwona was deliberately standing in his way and suddenly snapped, pouncing on the hapless priest, strangling him first and then unleashing a torrent of slaps on both sides of the clergy man's face.

The case of a man slapping a crying baby and calling the child the n-word is making headlines in the UK Saturday.

The Daily Mail’s headline reads, “ Company president, 60, 'slaps 19-month-old toddler in the face on a plane and tells his mother to ''shut that n****r baby up'“Joe Rickey Hundley, 60, accused of racially abusing, then striking the 19-month-old infant on a flight to Atlanta”

The baby’s mother told authorities she believes Hundley was drunk. Hundley allegedly demanded that the mother of the 19-month old child “shut that n****r baby up” before slapping the child in the face. The incident happened on February 8. The flight was en-route from Minneapolis to Atlanta.

According to them, 'coloured trousers had been banned within the camp and the camp commandant spotted Pastor Tunde Bakare's son, Segun Bakare in black trousers. When apprehended, the lad asked the commandant if he didn't know he was the son of Tunde Bakare, the popular preacher. The commandant immediately delivered a slap on the face of the young man and Segun replied with his own slap.
