Don Jazzy has got to be the most generous Nigerian celebrity ever. A few weeks ago he gave a mutual friend of ours who has kidney issues, N1million. I kinda asked the guy to ask Don Jazzy, and a few days later, he calls me to say IDJA gave him N1m. And today I found out that he has also donated N1million to prolific music producer, OJB Jezreel. He did it quietly a few days back but when I found out, well, I just had to share it. And let's not forget the N2million he gave cancer patient Funmi Lawal last year and many things I hear he does very quietly. God bless him. Also, thanks to Ruggedman who has also donated to OJB. 

Now calling on other artists to please do same. OJB Jezreel needs N15million for a kidney transplant in India. This guy has done so much for music in Nigeria and had helped so many Nigerian artists achieve success. Now is the time to give back.

Britain is planning to force visitors from Nigeria, India, Pakistan, and other countries whose nationals are deemed to pose a “high risk” of immigration abuse to provide a cash bond before they can enter the country, a report said Sunday.

The Sunday Times newspaper said that from November, a pilot scheme would target visitors from those three countries plus Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Ghana.

Visitors aged 18 and over would be forced to hand over £3,000 ($4,600, 3,500 euros) from November for a six-month visit visa. They will forfeit the money if they overstay in Britain after their visa has expired.  Initially the scheme will target hundreds of visitors, but the plan is to extend it to several thousand, according to the broadsheet’s front-page report.

An Atlanta church pastor is under fire for allegedly spreading HIV among his church members. At least two victims have come forward to press charges against Pastor Craig Lamar Davis of Atlanta’s Full Gospel Baptist Church.

The shocking news went viral after it was posted on a blog by an angry church member and ex lover of the married pastor.

Davis was arrested and charged with reckless conduct after investigators discovered he was having sex with several women in the church, one of whom reportedly held a leadership position.Davis admitted to investigators that he’s HIV positive and chose to have unprotected sex with these women.

 Marriage has been a blessing because I got married to the right woman; I got married to my friend. Being married has taken me to the next level and I am glad I got married at the time I did. I used to be disorganized when I was not married; I lived in hotels when I had the money but marriage put a stop to all of that because I now spend my time and my money wisely. Now I have a home and I remember I lost my dad at the age of 11 and I became a rejected stone but I thank God for everything he has done in my life.

The Ghanaian actress had a very revealing interview today where she opened up about her relationship with Iyanya and how much he hurt her. Excerpts:

 How long did the two of you date and how would you describe the relationship?
 We dated for 7 to 8 months. We had something and I thought it was special, like he was a wonderful guy but it was all lies. He had other girls and other things he was doing. Aside the actress that was in the picture, there were a lot more. That is how bad it is. We were in a relationship and he lied throughout and he was able to do all those things because I wasn’t living in Nigeria. But aside from the distance, I feel if you’re a genuine person and you’re loyal, you would still not do that.

 I feel it’s disrespectful to start mentioning other people’s names. I am talking about Iyanya because we had a thing, I don’t want to bring in a third person. Mrs. Juliana Abebi Shodiya, nee Oketoogun, helped win converts for a church when it was built in 1901:

Funmi Salome Johnson of National Mirror was with this ancient woman recently. 

She doesn’t speak the English language but she speaks fluent Yoruba. She is not lettered but no one can take away her noticeable intelligence and lucidity.

Trust Nigerians to dissect anything, the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Ministry’s son had his wedding last week, since then a lot of people have wondered on the whole ‘get-up’ of the bride which was yards away from what a typical Deeper life bride in Nigeria would wear and I’ve seen a couple. According to one of the ‘commenters’ on this funny but self explanatory picture which was posted on someone’s Facebook page;

According to a report, popular Nigerian actress, Stella Damasus, is pregnant and Daniel Ademinokan, the estranged husband of actress Doris Simeon, is believed to be responsible for her pregnancy.

The report further stated that Stella and Daniel are currently in the United States, where they would be until Stella will be delivered of the baby. "Stella’s two children and Daniel’s son are also with them in the States," the report added.

Stella and Daniel were both living in Abuja before they reportedly travelled to the US together.

When the rankings were made a year later, his fortune dropped to $2.5 billion and plunged further to $2.1 billion the year after. By 2011, after he had taken Dangote Cement public, his fortune surged 557 per cent to $13.8 billion. 

In 2012, he dropped to $11.2 billion, but rebounded at $20.1 billion this year. Since March, his fortune has jumped another 30 per cent. He is now the richest man in Africa and the 25th richest in the world. Thugs and hoodlums hired by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, managers of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 have stormed the Lagos airport and caused a breach of peace, Nigerian aviation authorities alleged on Saturday, But Bi-Courtney reacted angrily and debunked the allegation.


The Murtala Muhammed domestic terminal: thugs clash today over billboards.

“They forcefully replaced the advertisement flex removed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria recently, because such advert displays constituted a breach in the concession agreement between the two organisations,” said Yakubu Dati General Manager, Corporation Communications at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN.

Dati said the activities of the hoodlums resulted in unnecessary traffic bottleneck on the airport access road before FAAN security officials dispersed them, restored order in the affected part of airport and removed the advertisement flex.

Once upon a time, news from my family in Nigeria centered on the dead or dying. Tired of all the negative news, I sent out a fatwa: give me news of deaths and risk instant death! My folks knew I didn’t mean literal death. They also knew the sharpness of my tongue. A family member once said (unfairly, I might add) that if I were goat meat, he would eat everything except my mouth!

I didn’t mind that ‘yabis’ because the avalanche of negative family news ceased... I remembered a family member recently and realised I hadn’t heard about her in ages. When I asked my mother, she said the woman had since passed away. “Why wasn’t I told?” I asked with mild indignation. My mother retorted: “I thought you didn’t want to hear news about death.” Touche! I can’t eat my cake and have it, can I?

Early today, we reported that the mutilated corpse of Oluwaseun Adaramoye, a female undergraduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology was found behind a popular guest house at Under G in Ogbomosho.

According to new information at our disposal , she left home on Friday to her boyfriend’s hostel with the intention of attending a party. Days after, the boyfriend came forward and told Seun’s roommates that she had been missing for days, just before her corpse was discovered. When the boyfriend realized her body had been found, he took to his heels and made an attempt to abscond before he was nabbed and handed over to the Police.
