Dr. Kent Brantly, the US doctor cured of Ebola left the Emory University Hospital Atlanta about an hour ago. Before leaving, he spoke at a news conference, telling reporters that he's thrilled to be alive

"Today is a miraculous day. I’m thrilled to be alive, to be well and to be reunited with my family. 

"I cannot thank you enough for your prayers and your support, but what I can tell you is that I serve a God who answers prayers. God saved my life, a direct answer to thousands and thousands of prayers. Thank you to the Liberia community, Emory hospital and so many of you, my family, friends and church family. Please don’t stop praying for others in West Africa.”

She then went out (clubbing) with a couple of friends to blow off some steam. One of her friends boyfriend uploaded pictures of [Joe's girlfriend] clubbing on Instagram and someone forward the pictures to Joe.

The Police had arrested the family of the lady and the family of the man, (who is 20 years old) the man himself had ran away. The 12 year-old girl  is in Primary 3. The scan was done and a doctor told us that she is about 7 months pregnant. He thinks there there could be a problem with the legs of the child, but he wasn't sure. We took the little girl to Amecet, gave her food and one of the staff has spend some time with her this afternoon. To see if she knows what's going on.

Ebola: Lagos Hospital which Treated Patrick Sawyer to get ₦4m

First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos State, where Nigeria’s first Ebola case was treated will receive N4 million from ANAP foundation. 

Nigeria's Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu’s spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh, in a statement said, the founder of the foundation, Atedo Peterside, informed the ministry that all private hospitals affected by the outbreak would receive N100, 000 per bed space. The statement said Mr. Peterside disclosed that First Consultant Hospital would be the first beneficiary of the foundation’s donation. The hospital will receive N4 million since it has 40 bed spaces.

Pres. Jonathan Set to pay private visit to Germany

President Goodluck Jonathan will on Friday leave Abuja for Germany on what the Presidency said is an exclusive visit. This is found in a three-paragraph statement made available to journalists on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati. Abati said the President was expected back in the country early next week. 

 The statement simply read, “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will leave Abuja early Friday on a private visit to Germany.    “The President will be accompanied on the trip by some of his principal aides. “He is expected back in Abuja early next week.”

A jilted lover killed himself by standing in front of a train driven by his ex-girlfriend, it emerged last night. Gary Wells, 36 (left), was said to be distraught after splitting from Diane MacDonald, 29 (right), three weeks ago. Miss MacDonald was powerless to prevent a collision after he stepped on to the track in front of the train she was driving on one of Britain’s most scenic rail routes.

Mr Wells died instantly as he was hit by the train. 

Miss MacDonald, the first woman train driver on the West Highland Line in Scotland, was left so distressed that she required sedation after the tragedy, which happened at Inverlochy, near Fort William, on Tuesday morning.

The recent reintroduction of ATM charges in the country by the Central Bank of Nigeria is unacceptable. This is a policy that was done away with two years ago. What is happening to the leadership of the CBN with incessant policy reversals? Not too long ago, we learnt that they are planning to go back to the paper note as against the newly introduced polymer. Someone please tell me, are we moving forward or backward? It is high time well-meaning Nigerians became interested in whatever policy is being introduced by the CBN in terms of ensuring proper analysis to ascertain the cost and effect on the citizens since they have proved to be unreliable and anti-people in their decision making process.
