How Child on Oxygen Almost Died after Power Cut at Enugu Teaching Hospital




Last Sunday at the Children Emergency Section of the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, a child on emergency oxygen supply narrowly cheated death.
 
 Electricity supply to the section was suddenly interrupted, leaving the patient gasping for breath. Michael Eze, an American-based academic, who took a relative’s son to the hospital at the time, told PremiumTimes he was shocked that the hospital had no back-up electricity supply, thereby endangering the lives of kids on emergency treatment. 
“This is the disaster called Enugu state teaching hospital. There are children in the children emergency ward. Light just went off and there was no back up electricity, Worse still – one of the kids was on oxygen supply when the light went off.  
But this is not new, the children emergency ward has not had back up electricity for weeks. The sorry state of tonight event was watching nurses and doctors making desperate efforts to stabilize the kid on oxygen,”

Ebola: Lagos Hospital which Treated Patrick Sawyer to get ₦4m

First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos State, where Nigeria’s first Ebola case was treated will receive N4 million from ANAP foundation. 


Nigeria's Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu’s spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh, in a statement said, the founder of the foundation, Atedo Peterside, informed the ministry that all private hospitals affected by the outbreak would receive N100, 000 per bed space. The statement said Mr. Peterside disclosed that First Consultant Hospital would be the first beneficiary of the foundation’s donation. The hospital will receive N4 million since it has 40 bed spaces.

Nurse gets sack letter for filming Neymar in hospital (see the video)




 The nurse who filmed Brazilian striker Neyma being wheeled around on a hospital trolley has been fired, in accordance with a write-up on Brazilan football site UOL.

The nurse has been criticized for not just recording the football star in that state but additionally for blowing kisses to the camera afterwards and laughing. She then posted the video to her Facebook page. Well, not sure how this can be a big deal but a healthcare facility management released a statement saying the nurse, named Chintia, has been fired. Kefee's hubby confirms she is in a coma in US hospital



Guess you all might have heard by now that Branama queen Kefee collapsed on a flight to Chicago after having a performance and has been around a coma since then. I held on to the story because I needed to get confirmation and now I have. Kefee's publicist has confirmed that she's indeed in a coma in a hospital under intensive care and will send out a press statement later. Meanwhile, her husband, Teddy Don-Momoh has asked visitors to please pray for her.

Hunger Strikes Nyanya bomb blast victims in hospital - report



Based on a report by Premium Times, some victims of Monday's bomb blast receiving medical attention at the Asokoro General Hospital in Abuja are still facing hunger as no body offers them with food.
 
One of the survivors, Salome Jim, told Premium Times that she's only received drugs and drips from a healthcare facility management but no you've got given her anything to eat.
"I have been sitting down here waiting for surgery. I am in pain, I am very hungry. No one has come here to give me food, I can neither walk nor move, the nurses and doctors are nice to me but they didn’t give me food. The nurse said she will come and attend to me at 9:30 amthis morning and this is 9 o’ clock so I am waiting, but when I came here yesterday they took care of me, I didn’t pay for anything, but they didn’t give us food. I went to bed with an empty stomach, the woman inside the ward over there (she pointed) shared her food with me at midnight, as I am here my relatives don't know I am here as I couldn’t find my phone.” She said.

Seattle Woman Rushed To Hospital After 3 Hour Or*gasm



For one Seattle woman, a mind-blowing org-asm sent her to heaven - and then to the emergency room. DailyMail reports Elizabeth had just had se-x with her partner Eric, but well after he climbed out of bed, Liz was hitting new peaks of pleasure.

Woman Arrested In SA For Driving Her Father To The Hospital.



A Kuwaiti woman has been arrested in Saudi Arabia for driving her diabetic father to hospital.  The woman was stopped by police near the border with Kuwait and detained before being held in custody pending investigation, according to the Kuwait Times. It comes a week after a group of women staged a high-profile protest against the ban on female drivers in Saudi Arabia. Officers were said to be unsympathetic with her when she told them her father was ill and needed to be taken up to hospital. It is unclear whether the woman's father made it to hospital after her arrest.

Veteran Nollywood Actor, Pa Kasumu In Critical Condition At Teaching Hospital, Needs ₦12m



Veteran Nollywood actor, Kayode Dosumu, well known as Pa Kasumu, is not in the best of health at the moment. The actor is dejected and is fighting for survival at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where he’s receiving treatment It has been learnt that Pa Kasumu is being treated for heart related disease, which is affecting his sight and needs nothing less than ₦12million to undergo a full treatment to make him survive the battle with death. We also gathered from a report that efforts are now being made to save him from dying. The actor has been battling with re-occurring illness since 2009. It would be recalled that in 2011, news went round that he reportedly suffered from stroke, but bounced back and was at the first edition of AfricaMagic Viewers Choice Awards held in Lagos in early 2013

If the story making round is anything to go by, the mother of Nollywood actor Jim Iyke might be in a serious medical condition.

According to gossips, Jim Iyke’s mum is currently clinging to life at a private hospital in Lagos after her battle with high blood pressure turned to stroke.

nothing of such.

Usher and Tameka Raymond's 5-year-old son, Usher Raymond V, was rushed to the hospital after almost drowning in the family pool...

Usher's son Usher Raymond V is in the ICU at an Atlanta hospital after a serious accident in the singer's pool Monday, TMZ has learned. Sources say the accident occurred around 6 PM yesterday. Usher was not home at the time.
Here's what we know ... The child was playing in the pool with his aunt and saw a toy in the drain. He dove down to get the toy and his arm got stuck in the drain. The aunt immediately dove in to rescue him but couldn't get his hand out. The maid then dove in and tried but was also unsuccessful.

Veteran Charles Olumo Agbako Critically Sick, In Coma At Ikeja Lagos General Hospital



Veteran Nigerian actor Charles Olumo widely called Agbako is currently sick and in a state of coma at the General Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos.  According to sources, the aged actor has been sick for a while.
His family resulted to medical treatment method after exhausting all other options. He was rushed to the hospital few hours ago where he has been in coma since.
 As we speak,the doctors at Ikeja General Hospital are working round the clock to get him better.  Though the 85-year-old actor is suffering from age related illness, family sources reveal his condition is life threatening.

Woolwich killer Michael Adebowale Released from hospital



One of the Woolwich killers, 22 year old Michael Adebowale has been discharged from hospital and moved into custody in a south London police station. Michael Adebolajo is still in hospital.

Meanwhile, Michael Adebolajo's family yesterday issued a statement of condolence to the family of the soldier who was killed, Lee Rigby. It reads:
"As a family, we wish to share with others our horror at the senseless killing of Lee Rigby and express our profound shame and distress that this has brought our family. We wish to state openly that we believe that there is no place for violence in the name of religion or politics. We believe that all right thinking members of society share this view, wherever they were born and whatever their religion and political beliefs. 
"We wholeheartedly condemn all those who engage in acts of terror and fully reject any suggestion by them that religion or politics can justify this kind of violence. We unreservedly put our faith in the rule of law and, with others, fully expect that all the perpetrators will be brought to justice under the law of the land."

P Square’s Second Baby’s Mother Stuck In London Hospital Over Unpaid Hospital Bill



Nigeria’s hip hop sensation, P Square (real name Paul Okoye), has reportedly abandoned the mother of his second baby in a London hospital where the woman recently gave birth to the entertainer’s baby.

A few weeks after welcoming his first new born baby in Atlanta, P Square – who is also known as P2 – had another baby delivered for him in a London hospital by a former beauty pageant contestant. However, this time, P Square has refused to claim paternal responsibility for the baby boy.

SaharaReporters learnt that the new baby’s mother is Elshama Benson Igbanoi, a 19-year-old and former Miss Plateau State. Our sources disclosed that she gave birth at the Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospital on Du Cane Road, London W12 0HS.

Man resorts to Stealing Car to rush pregnant girlfriend to hospital



A pregnant woman in-labor drove herself to the hospital as her boyfriend 31-year-old Robert Boudreaux from Deltona Florida does not have a license to drive a vehicle. 

On the way to the hospital the girlfriend's car ran out of gas so the couple walked several miles. After the 22-year-old girlfriend began to feel dehydrated and complained that she was bleeding, Boudreaux came up with a plan, instead of calling 911 or a cab, Boudreaux stopped a passing car and asked the driver to take them to the hospital but the driver refused to take them.

Mandela Back In Hospital For Check-Up



Global peace icon and former statesman Nelson Mandela was hospitalised Saturday for a “scheduled medical check-up”, the South African presidency said, months after he underwent treatment for lung infection and gallstones. “Former president Nelson Mandela was admitted to hospital in Pretoria this afternoon, 9 March 2013, for a scheduled medical checkup to manage the existing conditions in line with his age,” said presidential spokesman Mac Maharaj in a statement.
“Doctors are conducting tests and have thus far indicated that there is no cause for any alarm,” he added.

Picture Of Bisi Komolafe On Hospital Bed Before Her Death




This photo of the actress was taken a few days before her death on Monday December 31st. Bisi battled with an undisclosed illness that kept her in and out of hospital for more than three months.
A close friend of the actress confirmed that Bisi was a few weeks pregnant before the illness started, and that the pregnancy had to be terminated at the hospital to save her life when her condition got worse.  Bisi will be buried on Friday January 4th in Ibadan. May her soul rest in peace.
