Former Fugees member Wyclef Jean has seen better days. He now owes a list of creditors money, including the I.R.S. That bill alone is $2.9M. The revelation was made by his accountant once the former Fugees frontman failed to pay lawyers money he owed them. That is really sad. Wyclef is one artiste that's really promoted African music in the United States.

The Federal Government’s anti-graft war, which many have dismissed as below average, may collapse as  the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, one of the agencies saddled with the responsibility of prosecuting  the  campaign,  is said to be broke.

Investigations by our correspondent in Abuja on Tuesday revealed that the  EFCC  had been finding it difficult to meet its obligations to the  lawyers handling cases on its behalf.

The most affected are senior lawyers in charge of cases against  influential politicians/ suspects who are either involved in high profile money laundering or outright stealing.

Ejike Nkennachor is a 30-year-old robbery suspect. He shocked police detectives in Lagos when he narrated how he masterminded a prison break at the Maximum Prisons, Shagamu, Ogun State, to form a notorious robbery gang that specialises in snatching exotic cars.

“When I was arrested in 2008 at the state Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for car snatching, I was charged to court but members of my family paid money to a lawyer that secured my release.

I spent only four months at the Ikoyi prison and my case was discharged for want of evidence. After my release, I went back to car snatching because I know my family will always come for me. I did it for some time and I snatched several exotic cars including a Mercedes Benz car that was valued around N12 million but I sold it for N800,000 to my receiver at Asaba, Delta State.

Monday made it three years Oladapo Olaonipekun popularly known as Dagrin died in an auto crash.

Saturday Beats gathered that three years down the line, the mother of the late rap artiste, Falilat Olaonipekun, is broke. A Blackberry message made the rounds during the week, soliciting for support for the deceased’s mother.
