Ebola safety: LASG visits Synagogue Church

The Lagos State Government and some federal delegates on Sunday paid a visit to the General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Joshua.

The visit was said to be aimed at sensitising the church and its membership on the menace of the deadly Ebola virus.  The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, who led the delegation, said it was also to make sure that no victim of the virus came into the church from any of the affected countries.

Some members of Jehovah's Witness have come out to condemn their church's stance against them marrying outside their faith. According to Jehovah's Witness' doctrine, members of the church are to only marry themselves and not from any other Christian faith. If they do, it's seen as an act of immorality. And people who marry outside the church are usually expelled from the church and treated as non-members.

The members say this has kept them unmarried for years and in some cases, get married to members who they are not attracted to.

A Baptist church in the USA has concluding plans to burn Bibles on Thursday, October 31. Justifying the planned action, Pastor Marc Grizzard, of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Canton, North Carolina, said that the initial King James translation of the Bible is the sole true declaration of God's word, and that all others are “satanic".
