Senate House of rep okays state of Emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa

The Senate today gave its nod for the extension of Emergency Rule in the troubled North East states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa. The House of Reps had on May 15th approved the extension. With the Senate's approval, extension of Emergency Rule by the Federal Government is now able to be effected by 6 months.

Eight pregnant ladies including teenage girls have been rescued by the Ogun State police command
at an alleged baby making factory located at number 9 Sebanjo Crescent, off Fabolude Busstop,
Akute area of Ifo local government of Ogun State.

 A hostel at Unity School in Ikire in Osun state was burnt down today by unknown persons while students were inside their classrooms. The college had just two blocks of hostels opposite one another, and just two days ago, one of many hostels was razed, only for the next one to be burnt down today. The college authorities called parents in to get their kids until they can figure out what happened.

President Obasanjo, his partner, former Ebonyi state governor Sam Egwu, current Ebonyi Governor Martin Elechi and his deputy Dave Umahi & partner, plus Ebonyi House of Assembly speaker, Chukwuma Nwazunku and Nkem Owoh were all at the wedding.

 A amount of N7billion (naira) of Nigeria's  tax payers funds was wasted on the burial of the foster mother of Nigeria's first lady, Patience Jonathan in her hometown of Okrika in Rivers State on the weekend.
the events which kicked off on Thursday saw the attendance of the President , Vice President, several state governors and ministers. Saharareporters sources said funds for the burial were taken from several ministries such as the FCT, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, the ministry of Education, Delta State, Bayelsa state  and the ministry of defence. Ironically, the very first lady's mother died in a stretch of raod abandoned by the Jonathan's regime in the Niger Delta region.

 Folashade Tinubu Ojo, the first daughter of former Lagos State governor, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, has been crowned the new Iyaloja of Lagos State and the President General of the Market Guys and Women of Nigeria. The installment took place today at the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu. Her appointment in July 2013, was observed and endorsed by industry leaders of all of the 57 local governments in Lagos State but it had been nevertheless trailed with controversies and condemnation. Bola Tinubu's mom, Abibat Mogaji held the position before she died recently and appointed her as successor.

 So there's a press statement from Edo State government denying hosting BBA winner, Dillish, last weekend. Well, they kinda have a point...they can say the federal government didn't host her, but Governor Adams Oshiomhole hosted her...and that's fact! She wasn't hosted at the federal government house, however the governor's private house in Edo state.

Dillish and additional girls were there on Saturday October 19th (for those wondering why she didn't make an appearance at Selly's party in Abuja that day) and we've the download of precisely what transpired but Iwe'll leave all that out because after all said and done, Gov Oshimhole is a single man. Our source could categorically state one thing for sure, Dillish gave a condition for accepting the invitation..she would only pay a courtesy visit and nothing more. All parties agreed!

The Ogun State Government, week-end, donated N2 million to ailing Nollywood actor, Mr. Kayode Odumosu, popularly called Pa Kasumu, for his medical treatment. Assistant to the State Government, Mr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, who made the donation with respect to the federal government, claimed Governor Ibikunle Amosun was moved when he discovered the condition of the actor and decided to give the lifeline.

They said this happened on Thursday 19th September at Orokam, Obadigbo Local Government area of Benue State According to the story, the woman is said to be the wife of a popular school proprietor in the area who was caught cheating days after he died . She lost her husband on Tuesday, they say according to the Orokam culture, there is an oracle called “ALEKWU” in the town which punishes married women who cheat on their husbands and also deters people from committing atrocities.

Daniel Oikhena, the 14 year old stowaway who flew an Arik flight from Benin to Lagos in the plane's Tyre compartment was Today September 3rd handed over to the Edo state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Benin by operatives of Eo state Command of the Department of State Security Services (DSS).

Journalists and family members, including his mother, Mrs Evelyn Oikhena were however denied access to the boy at the DSS office in Benin City. Also, efforts made by Mrs. Oikhena at the Ministry of Women Affairs to see her son were rebuffed by the Ministry officials.
