Nigeria Police detectives attached to Niger State Police Command on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 have arrested an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), ASC Idris Saidu over his involvement in illegal dealings in arms and ammunition. Following the arrest, the detectives also have recovered from the suspect two (2) AK-47 rifles and a large chunk of ammunition. The suspect, male and 33yrs of age who hails from Maje Village, Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State and currently serving at NSCDC Headquarters, Minna, was arrested at Fadikpe Area of Chachanga Local Government of Niger State following a tip-off from a patriotic Nigerian. New 'death test' predicts how long you have left to live ( Would You Buy One?)

It might not be information you want to know, but just in case you do, scientists have designed a noninvasive test called the "death test" which can tell people how long they have left to live. A painless laser pulse is applied to the surface of the skin through a wristwatch-style device. It analyses endothelial cells measuring how the body will decline with age, giving a measure of the lifespan.   A user-friendly version of the system is expected to be completed within the next three years. The balls-up took place as Siobhan Riley informed viewers in Saginaw, Michigan about traffic hold-ups caused by building works. While drawing a map of the affected area, Riley accidentally sketched a huge man's member.

Before now, the notoriety of kidnappings was loudest in the South-South and South-East regions of Nigeria because of neglect by the government and mass unemployment. But FRANCIS SUBERU reports that the crime has assumed new dimensions in Lagos and other parts of the country.

Fears of two criminal activities gripped Lagos, Nigeria’s former capital city and the commercial and economic hub of the country in the second quarter of this year. While the first, a rumoured planned attack of the Boko Haram terrorist group, was nipped in the bud, the other, kidnapping for ransom, gained ground and is still keeping residents on the edge.

A self-proclaimed Islamic cleric and native doctor has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for selling human parts.

60-year-old Gazali Akewadola, was said to have killed innocent people and used their parts to perform rituals.

Police sources claim they arrested Akewadola after five suspects who were initially detained had revealed his location in their confessional statements.

Akewadola from Owode Yewa, Ogun State has since made confessions of his own following his arrest by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad defending his act as a means to cater for his eight children. He also reportedly disclosed that he began making money buying heads at the cost of N3,000 but the price went up to N8,000 so he decided to start buying human beings and then dismembering the corpses which he would use for various purposes.
