Spanish Police Smash Edo State Voodoo Prostitution Gang

Spanish police said Sunday [Jun 2] they had broken up a ring that smuggled in women from Nigeria and forced them into street prostitution by burning them with irons and using voodoo rituals.
 Police arrested six Nigerian nationals, including the suspected woman ringleader, as part of an investigation launched last year after one of the prostitutes filed a complaint with the authorities.

“The control exercised over women was total, involving verbal threats as well as physical violence and various voodoo ceremonies to terrorise them,” police said in a statement. “The ring caused them serious injury through bites or by using an iron to cause second-degree burns.”

Maybe if Ini Edo had known that posting a picture of her in the kitchen cooking what looks like spaghetti would bring her insults, she would not have released the photograph online.  Probably by her calculations, she thought the picture would go viral just like that of Keri Hilson’s ‘fufu’ delicacy picture in the kitchen.

But rather than getting commendations, angry fans used the opportunity to vent their angers on the sultry actress. “Mtchewwww! So disgusting! What kind of yama-yama food is dis? Malta Guinness co-sponsors Okpekpe International Marathon in Edo

It was all guts, sweat and victory at the inaugural edition of the Okpekpe international 10km Marathon, a first in itself to happen in the Etsako West local government area of Edo state. 

According to promoters of the race, Okpekpe Road Race was of highest international standard with route measured and certified by the IAAF measurer. The race was endorsed by the IAAF and the AAC and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), with the backing of Malta Guinness Low Sugar and the Edo State Government as major partners.

Ini Edo on Saturday April 27th buried her mother-in-law, Mrs Erofoh Ehiagwina, in Irrua in Edo state. Mrs Ehiagwina died February this year. The actress' US based husband returned home to give his late mum a befitting burial.

The mass burial announced by authorities of the University of Benin

Teaching Hospital for victims of last Friday’s multiple accident on the Benin-Ore Road, in Igbogui, Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State, will hold on Saturday (today).

Authorities of the hospital had arranged to bury the corpses of the

victims on Wednesday but could not, apparently due to their inability to secure enough space for about 60 corpses from the accident, that were deposited at its mortuary.

A source at the hospital said the victims would be buried at the Third Cemetery, located on Akugbe Street, off New Lagos Road, Benin.
