A senior Saudi cleric said the Prophet Mohammed's marriage to a nine-year-old girl some 14 centuries ago cannot be used to justify child marriages today, a Saudi newspaper reported Thursday.

The comments by Sheikh Abdullah al-Manie, a member of the Council of Senior Ulema (scholars), followed the marriage of a 11-year-old girl to a man 68 years her senior. Manie told Okaz newspaper that circumstances are different today from when Islam's Prophet Mohammed married young Aisha.

I have been dating this guy and the whole wedding preparation is in full gear, but another side of him is showing now. The bone of contention here is that I want a court wedding and he saying we won't have one. Fine, what are your reasons? I asked him. The latest study has dispelled previous held notions about sèxual activity in relation to exercise.  Burning love apparently does not equate to burning fat. A new study from the University of Alabama at Birmingham says the average sèx act burns only about 21 calories.

The study, published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine, contradicts many long-standing claims that sèxual activity is a vigorous, fat-burning workout. Funded in part by the National Institutes of Health, the study results found that “false and scientifically unsupported beliefs about obesity are pervasive in both scientific literature and the popular press.”
