Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife Lyudmila announced their divorce Thursday after nearly 30 years of marriage. The Putins made the statement on state television after attending a ballet performance at the Kremlin.  “It was our joint decision,” Putin said.

SEE Why many graduates don’t get jobs, years after graduation’

Dr. Tunji Daodu, Provost, College of Health Technology, Ilese, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, is also the Chairman of Provosts of Colleges of Health Technology in Nigeria. He is a consummate administrator and Fellow, Royal Society of Health, London. He tells TON in this interview, why prospective undergraduates should embrace health related-courses and why the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) should include specialised institutions in its schedules, among other issues. Excerpts:
It seems that the college of health technology is not appealing to many prospective undergraduates in the country. Why is this so?
That is a good observation and the reason is simple. One, until about seven years ago, the certificate awarded by colleges of health technology was lower in status to that of the polytechnics but the two are now equivalent to each other. Another factor is that colleges of health technology do not enjoy media attention like universities and regular polytechnics.

PhD And MSc holders Fight For 25,000 Naira jobs In Lagos

General Manager of the Lagos Resident Registration Agency (LASRRA), Mrs Yinka Fashola, has decried the growing rate of unemployment across the country, saying 85 per cent of applicants for the resident registration exercise are PhD and MSc holders.
She said the PhD and MSc holders applied for jobs which were meant for secondary school leavers and a few National Diploma (ND) holders because of unemployment in the country.
Fashola, who until her appointment as the LASRRA boss served in the Office for National Statistics in United Kingdom, said the agency would have loved to increase the salaries of the applicants who obviously should have earned more because of their qualifications, but the agency was hampered by inadequate fund.

Must Read: Causes of smelly v-áginá and how to fix it

Most women experience feminine issues from time to time. Unfortunately, the fact that they're common doesn’t make them any less embarrassing. Feminine odor is especially frustrating, because it can leave you feeling unclean and gross, even if that’s not the case. There are lots of causes for feminine odor, but here are the top five culprits.

Bacterial v-aginosis

Bacterial v-aginosis (BV) sounds like a big scary term, but it’s actually very common. In fact, BV is the most common cause of v-áginal odor, according to the Mayo Clinic.

What stress does to your body

Every v-ágina is filled with naturally occurring bacteria, and BV is simply an overgrowth of that bacteria. According to Mary M. Galenberg, M.D., OB-GYN for the Mayo Clinic, most women in their reproductive years will experience at least one case of BV. The cause is unknown, but unprotected s3x and frequent douching can put you at a higher risk. Other symptoms include itching, soreness and discharge.
Some cases of BV will go away on their own, but Planned Parenthood recommends that all women with BV symptoms visit their doctor for treatment to prevent rare but serious complications. Treatment for BV is usually as simple as a course of antibiotics.

Real reason Kunle Afolayan was dropped as a Glo ambassador

Kinda a petty reason, but it's the truth. The prolific movie director and actor was dropped as a Glo ambassador a few months ago because of Saka. Yes, Saka the actor and new MTN ambassador. Real name Afiz Ayetoro.
According to what I gathered, Kunle Afolayan was booted out when Globacom found out that one of the main characters in his Phone Swap movie (which was sponsored by Globacom) was Saka, an Etisalat face for many of their brands, at the time. (Before he ported to MTN )

Prior to him being dropped as an ambassador, Kunle had a smooth relationship with the company and did not go against any terms in his contract and was really shocked at his termination. Thing is, Kunle had been working on his movie long before he was approached to be a Glo ambassador. Globacom sponsored the movie and when it eventually came out and they saw Saka in it, that was it!

Real Mermaid seen in Kiryat Yam, Israel (Video)

This video aired on Animal Planet a few weeks ago. It shows two tourists filming what they thought was a seal on rocks in Israel, then they zoom in. It gets scary when the creature turns and sees its being filmed. Is that a Mermaid or a misconception of an animal? Do Mermaids really exist? This is the closest thing I have seen to a real one. Watch and tell us what you think. Then watch Animal Planet analysis of the video after the Break..

Omotola talks about her Time Magazine honour

In April 2013, screen goddess Omotola Jalade Ekeinde (pictured above with Justin Timberlake) was honored as one of Time Magazine 100 Most Influential People in the World. According to Omotola, it's an achievement that will forever linger in her memory. She tells Encomium magazine:
"It's a great honour. Sometimes you really don't know your worth and people around you may just take you for granted. I was selected for a number of reasons. From what I was told, they watch a lot of my movies up there. The person who wrote my profile is actually the movie critic for Time magazine. He had been introduced to some of my movies. He also got to know about my other activities, including human rights activism and others. They also conducted opinion polls from those that follow what's going on in Nollywood. I think the opinion of the organisers is based on this. I wasn't the only person picked from Africa.

US issues fresh travel alert on Nigeria

The United States has issued fresh travel alert on Nigeria, warning its citizens not to travel to North and nine other states in South.
The US predicated the alert on the emergency rule in Yobe, Adamawa and Borno states, saying extremists could expand their operations beyond the three states to other parts of the country.
“The ability  of the mission to provide assistance to US citizens in those states remains severely limited,” the US government stated in an updated alert on Monday.
President Goodluck Jonathan on May 14, declared emergency rule in the three states to restore order following the violence orchestrated by members of Boko Haram.
The travel warning came just as the US State Department placed $7m bounty on the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau.
