Iyalorisa Egbelade Omitonade Ifawemimo is a Yemoja worshipper and a traditionalist. The 22-year-old, who is a 300 level student at the Department of Economics, Obafemi Awolowo University, shares in this interview with Doyin Adeoye, her religious beliefs and passion for the indigenous African religion, among other things.

My religion and how it started
I was born into the African traditional religion. My father, Chief Olukunmi Omikemi Egbelade is a Yemoja Chief priest as well as a Babalawo. He is the president of all Onisese in Oyo State and although we were not allowed to really get involved when we were young, I was later gradually tutored in it as I grew up, when my parents realised I had passion for it. I practise the African traditional religion and I am a Yemoja worshipper, as well as a Yemoja priestess.  I’m also versed in Ifa and other Orisas, besides Yemoja. I was initiated into the Yemoja religion in 2007 and that was when it fully became my passion.

On the 17TH of February, 2006, the Ghanaweb published an article under the heading 'SSS Girls Sacked For Engaging in Gang s-èx'. In this story, ten girls of Mpraeso Secondary School (MPASS) were caught in a gang s-èx at a hotel and were alleged to be having s-èx with five Nigerians suspected to be drug dealers. Another interesting thing is that each girl received ¢150,000 for the endurance and s-èx skills. Therefore, if these men are HIV positive and there was unprotected s-èx between them, then each infection has been exchanged for ¢150,000.What a shame. Where is Ghana heading towards?

In fact this Ghanaweb article revealed to us the kind of activities going on in our various schools and the fact that young people are now lacking s-èx education or maybe there is not enough education on s-èx for this young people. At least with the upsurge of HIV/AIDS, I would expect my fellow young people to think before engaging in such activities such as s-èx.

  Nollywood actor and movie producer Gbenga Oyeyiga's marriage to his banker wife Loade has ended after he allegedly beat her so badly she ended up in hospital and stayed there for three weeks in January 2013. Based on good friends of Lolade, the January beating wasn't the very first time as he had battered her severally in the past, but it was the last straw. Not just was Gbenga arrested for battery, his wife was also preparing to drag him to court but made a decision to drop the case. Lolade has moved out of her matrimonial home and now lives with the couple's only child.

This Tuesday, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) presented the first exclusively Nigerian motorcycle, NASENI M1, in Nnewi, Anambra State.

The 80C engine motorcycle was designed and manufactured by the National Engineering Design and Development Institute (Nnewi), a subsidiary of NASENI.Speaking at the launching in Anambra State, the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the agency, Dr.Mohammed Haruna, said the made-in-Nigeria motorcycle was proof of the potential capability of the agency to provide necessary engineering and technology infrastructure for Nigeria’s industrial development.

The lady, referred to as Praise, was taken to church on Sunday morning by her parents. She has become around four years old. Praise was reportedly sold to a lady in Kano. She was recovered from the woman who bought her after the person that kidnapped him confessed... The kidnapper, while confessing, said he was struck with a strange disease after kidnapping Praise. He also became blind. In addition to this, he explained he was always seeing the founder of the church, Bishop David Oyedepo, pursuing him with a sword in his dream, hence his decision to confess his sin. I actually began acting in the university community. My mother spoke with Bayo Oduleye (then a lecturer at the University of Ibadan.)

She also spoke with Yomi Shohunde. My mother, being an educated woman, did not have problem when I began acting, though she thought I would study law.
